Having class progression behind RNG was never ever a good shout, you spend 2-3 hours on it one evening with your favourite class, you unlock a crate, you open said crate to get a star-card to support a class you don't actually play. Then you get angry and put £10 down to open some more crates in frustration, hoping to get something to actually give your class a boost.
