Day before the system even launched - must be a new record.

Neonridr3166d ago

in all fairness some people have had theirs for a long time now.

darthv723165d ago

Because they used practically the same board as the NES classic... some are turning their NES into SNES classics.

dead_pixels3166d ago

I guess it won't be long before we'll be able to load our classics with the full SNES library. I'm okay with this.

Parasyte3166d ago

You can already do that if you build a Raspberry Pi system and load a SNES emulator onto it.

dead_pixels3166d ago

Well, obviously, but that's not as fun.

darthv723165d ago

storage capacity limitations would prohibit a "full" snes library but you can certainly add lots more. People are even converting their NES classics into SNES ones because the similarities in board layout.

Neonridr3165d ago

yeah unfortunately the size of the internal storage doesn't allow for the full library. But you will be able to add quite a few to really complete the collection. Zombies at my Neighbours anyone?

WeAreLegion3165d ago

Yes, please. Zombies Ate My Neighbors all day, man.

PaulKersey3165d ago

There are new compression techniques being worked on that will allow the full library to be loaded on the SNES classic.

this console had been out for decades, you know. they knew already all about the inner workings.

letsa_go3165d ago

Shhh, adults are talking.

mysterym3165d ago

They know about the emulated machine, not the hardware in the snes classic silly!

KesMonkey3165d ago

Far from it. There were a few instances back in the late 80s and early 90s of getting pirated copies of Commodore Amiga games weeks before they were released. Robocop 3 is probably the most notable.

sd2snes on a real console is almost as expensive as the 30 games hardware emulator.

PaulKersey3165d ago

A SNES and sd2snes is quite a bit more than $80.

The 10 Best Star Fox Games Ranked From Worst to Best

BLG writes: "The original titles are classics with near-infinite replayability. Later releases, however, have stumbled. Usually, they’re hampered by attempted innovation with new control schemes or gimmicks. Still, there’s a lot to enjoy with the beloved Nintendo franchise. To celebrate, we’re going to rank the best Star Fox games in the franchise. To come up with the order, we’re mixing in a little bit of Metacritic ranking and author opinion."

Well, they listed Star Fox Zero as the worst one, so that list is at least believable.

septemberindecember1765d ago

I feel like if you're judging the original Star Fox by it's era then I feel you should do the same with Star Fox 2 IMO. Since they are both effectively SNEA games

Sgt_Slaughter1765d ago

It's hard to top the N64 version (well maybe the 3DS version, but that should have used uncompressed audio. Without that it's a step down from what it could have been IMO)
