Ubisoft comments on the rumor alleging that Assassin's Creed Origins on Xbox One X might have a mode running at 1080p and 60 FPS.
It took going back to a much older game to realise just how empty Assassin's Creed Shadows feels.

I agree with the first part of their statement. Japan is so overused and it wasn't particularly interesting in Shadows. Now that it's been done, they can do something better.

Origins is a beautiful game made by talented people that got turned into a brutal level-gate fest by the CEOs.
There are only a few Assassin's Creed games I played. Original, The Ezio Collection, and what I think is probably the best in the series Assassin's Creed Odyssey with the DLC. I'm done with the series, it's the same shit.
Same, enjoyed 1, looooved the ezio trilogy, and 4 was peak, everything after that just sucked. Unity was a great direction but the bugs and how long it took to fix killed it, best parkour system in the series tho
Ubisoft shared a developer Q&A about Assassin's Creed Origins, clearing up pretty much any doubt you could possibly have regarding the game.
AC Origins is the last great Ubisoft game. Period. This game show how great the Ubisoft story writing once was. Also the meticulous research Ubisoft did in the field of Egyptology. Ubisoft was so pride of their research that it made a separate Touring mode just to showcase all of their study.
Video game sequels like Assassin's Creed Origins, Doom (2016), and Fire Emblem Awakening were just what these franchises needed to be revitalized.

RE7 though... my God, what a shift over RE6! That franchise was definitely going in the wrong direction, so RE7 was a welcome return to form.
Resi 6 was and still is the worst entry in the series.
7 was a great turnaround, despite people’s concerned about the switch to FP perspective.
DMC5 definitely helped the franchise after the whole DmC debacle. Whilst it was a decent action game, it was a far cry from the series and the characters we knew.
AC Origins is my favourite in the entire AC series. Despite the switch to a more RPG style of gameplay - the setting, soundtrack, length, etc were all amazing. sadly followed up by the ridiculously long and “more of the same” Odsyssey.
I don’t feel it’s fair to say the franchise slipped with Doom 3, Doom 3 was incredibly atmospheric and took the game in a different direction but there’s no denying Doom (2016) was sensational.
Halo 4 & 5 were disappointing but Halo Infinite definitely didn’t save the franchise? What?
I'm going to have to go with SMB 3. I was around when SMB 2 first came out and people hated it. 3 is still arguably the best mario game created.

A massive open world like this game with an 1080p 60fps option would be quite the achievement.
Even if they are considering it, I think it will be across all systems, I know there are some hardcore Xbox fanboys that want MS to pay Ubisoft to make it so and keep that mode off PS4
Yeah, I figured this wasn't true when it first was said. Like it or not, current gen consoles (X included) have a CPU bottleneck. No amount of GPU power, "customization", or any other secret sauce is going to solve this problem for a CPU intensive game. Hopefully next gen console makers shift more focus to frame rate as opposed to resolution.
