Fallout 4 VR Doesn’t Include Any DLC

Bethesda’s VR version of the massive RPG will be lacking the DLC of the other versions.

tyasia03246d ago

Wait, so if you want Fallout VR you have to buy it at retail again? If that's the case Bethesda has seriously become my most despised gaming company all their frivolous lawsuits paid mods and just general ass hattery when it comes to PR talk.

Elder Scrolls and Fallout (though interplay made way better Fallout games than Bethesda) are some of the best franchises but Bethesda just sucks.

nX3244d ago

Well they've got to make back the loss from all those other mediocre games they're releasing.
In my opinion, focusing everything on TES and Fallout would be a much smarter business strategy, they're really sitting on goldmines there.

zombiewombie3244d ago

The same with skyrim. You have to repurchase it for vr and at full price.

FullmetalRoyale3244d ago

It's looking pretty rough, from a fan's perspective.

I think you underestimate the time and cost of making the game really work in VR, not just a quick stereoscopic port.
They know its going to be worth it as there isnt anything like this in VR currently, no AAA massive length open world games. Think of the dev time it takes and how much that is, the limited amount of customers that will actually buy a VR game, and you see why they charge the price they do. The fact it wont have the DLC though is not cool, I hope they later bring that in but free. I hope if it makes it to PSVR thats all included.

Good Lord - will this be on PSVR or no ?

ocelot073244d ago

No idea if they can get Skyrim and Doom VFR working with PSVR am not sure why they can't get it working with Fallout VR.

Fearmonkey3243d ago

I bet it will eventually, especially if Skyrim VR and Doom VFR takes off sales wise. If they both sell poorly or average then maybe not.

Shadyceaser3244d ago

Oh! But what a cool experience.

Im not rebuying fallout 4 to play it in VR either my currebt copy gets a patch or I just dont play Fallout in Vr.

if BEthesda make good money on this VR version, they will bring every Bethesda game vr compatible from start without extra charge. The reason why they have to charge full price on Fallout 4 vr is they know they can't sell millions of copies through small vr communities. They made this version from scratch. Anyway, if Fallout VR gets poor sale then VR definitely will die off. This is our last hope from big game developers. I AM SUPPORTING BECAUSE I DON'T WANT VR TO DIE. i wasted several hundreds of dollar buying Early Access fraud indie games. Fallout 4 vr experience will make it up from all my loss from garbage indie games.

Glad to see someone else gets it, the limited amount of VR owners means to get any money back out of this they need to sell it at a higher price. What many people arent seeming to get is that they NEED to pay full price for Skyrim VR, Fallout 4 VR, and DOOM VFR because that will encourage Bethesda to release their future games in VR from the start. If they see that its worth the investment, they will make it. Morrowind was their first console RPG and Pete Hines at the time thought it was a waste because it would never sell on console. He was proven way wrong and they released every game after that on consoles as their prime development. If no one bought Morrowind on Xbox, then it would have been much later for their games to be heavily featured on consoles.

Gamers are way too entitled, developers need to make money on the efforts they do, not just work on something and release it free because they are good guys. If you want VR like this, buy it and support it!!!

It could be free and it wouldn't matter at this point. There isn't really a PCVR Market and I say that as a PCVR user. It is modders and enthusiasts with a few retail products on Steam.
