F1 23 Will Support PC VR But Not PSVR 2

Electronic Arts has confirmed that while F1 23 will support PC VR it will not support PSVR 2 on PlayStation 5.

That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.

Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.

But it's EA. They don't think.

A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?

That's where opportunity presents itself that they could offer something else that other developers haven't offered yet. Yeah. There's No Man's Sky. But a space game with a story would be great. Like the old days with Colony Wars.

Exactly, they could have possibly lured more players just from the inclusion of a vr mode.

I miss Colony wars and G-Police, Low-Fi I hope will scratch that itch when it releases. We also need a vr War/Starhawk game.

They will lose a lot of sales from this short-sightedness. People with VR2 would have been all over this just like they were with GT7 even if not into racing games all that much. And regular players of the F1 games who have tried VR racing will probably give the franchise a miss this year. Once you try racing in VR its hard to go back to racing on a screen.

I'm surprised they have overlooked this to be honest. literally everyone is asking for it on the forums.

Just wrapped up a Super Formula race on GT7 with VR2. Fantastic. I only came 8th but it was my first attempt at that race and my tire strategy was a bit off. Got a couple of penalties for abusing track limits too.
There was one bit where there were seven cars immediately in front of me and the whole thing still ran super smooth.

That race is so dang hard, man. I'm still getting used to driving with the VR2, but it's incredibly fun.

I must've restarted that race at least 30 times, and the best I got was like 9th place.

I got first at St Croix tonight on my second attempt.

Here are my tips.

Use soft tires and pit at the end of lap 5. Your tires will be garbage on laps 5 and 10 but should be manageable.

Only put a tiny bit of fuel in.

Don't pick up any penalties. I haven't had the crossing pit line issue coming out of the pit lane at St Croix.

Find the parts of the track where you can be faster than the CPU, and capitalize on them. I found the section leading up to the bridge, the long right hander just after the bridge, and the final corner to be the key sections.
