DOOM VFR – E3 2017 Reveal Trailer

If you flinched the first time you saw a meaty Mancubus charging at you in last year’s critically acclaimed DOOM, wait till you get up close and even more pe...

Wonder if it will be aim compatible

Derceto3262d ago

Good god. More VR vomit to pump out the last bit of life VR still has.

XbladeTeddy3262d ago

Don't be one of those people. VR will be the future in the next couple of decades. Just like we moved from black & white to colour, from CRT to LCD, SD to HD. VR will keep advancing and it's not a gimmick. Even in this infant stage it's dam impressive.

MegamanXXX3262d ago

Is this only for HTC Vice? What about Oculus?

Aenea3262d ago

Also PSVR....

But it's weird that this and Fallout 4 aren't coming to the Rift...

Dat Zenimax lawsuit is tripping Oculus up.

Good for PSVR though.

morganfell3262d ago

It isn't weird. Zenimax owns Bethesda, Bethesda owns Id. Id makes Doom. Zenimax is suing Oculus.

TankCrossing3262d ago

You can still play it on the Rift though. Fingers crossed they will even support Oculus SDK and such via Steam as it isn't fans with Rifts that they have legal proceedings against. Even if it doesn't it should be playable.

Aenea3262d ago

@morgan

Hahaha! I completely forgot about that!

freshslicepizza3262d ago

Doom might come to PSVR but good luck with Fallout 4, even the PS4 Pro has trouble getting a decent frame rate enough to handle VR for that game.

As much as I love Doom this looks to be just a gimmick. Pointing to where you want to go takes away the fast paced nature of Doom.

if it works for Vive it works for Oculus. Unless they somehow lock it behind some Vive exclusive launcher.

freshslicepizza3262d ago

That's the beauty of Valve, they are open to allowing VR work with other VR units and they don't pay to lock other people out with exclusive deals.

Neonridr3261d ago

@moldybread - a lot of times these games "locked" to Oculus were helped along by being funded by them.

Doom Vitual Fucking Reality = I'm buying a PSVR. Just for this one game.

Good list but Thrill of the Fight 2 and Racket Club should be in this. TOFT 2 is one hell of a work out and even found myself watching boxing instructional videos in order to improve. Racket Club does an amazing job adapting tennis, badminton and pickleball into something that feels realistic but fits in with smaller VR spaces.

kevco3362d ago

Both of these are great games!

TOFT has already featured in 131XR's 'best' series: https://youtu.be/jExm8PbCVq...

It could be free and it wouldn't matter at this point. There isn't really a PCVR Market and I say that as a PCVR user. It is modders and enthusiasts with a few retail products on Steam.
