My only thought after seeing Halo 3 at the end is that its an expansion, but it looks as though its a Human city. The pods could have been for either humans, covenant, or brutes.

In one of the city street clips by the evac sign it states, New Mombasa. So whatever it is it's set in the HALO universe

Even on the homepage it says Halo 3 and then under it KEEP IT CLEAN. I think its an add-on for campaign.

I don't think they'd put the halo 3 logo on it if it weren't to do with halo 3. maybe that's the planet MC crashes onto, and all the meteors n shiz are part of the ship.

edit: since it appears to be in New Mombasa, it could be a pack to fill in from the destruction of it before MC shows up there in Halo 3.

edit 2: it does say prepare to drop. Maybe you play as the invading covenant instead of for the humans?

Campaign expansion

based around Halo3, theres a few references to the fllod in their too. To my best guess it appears as though this is going to be based around the surviving spartans (a sort of...... while Master Cheif was saving the world >> this is the story of what the other spartans were doing to helf win the fight) so it could be a tactical (sort of GRAW) type game.................... or it could be spartan 087 (kelly)s version of events, because from the books, Dr. Halsley abducted her and know one yet knows why, maybe it was for this reason.

It's CGI, and it's a first person shooter, you think you idiots would try and atleast say something relevant.

if it said new mambosa then it is this.... if you remember the first trailer for halo 3 in the back groud you could see what was left of the space elevator thing that in the halo universe was in new mambosa. whatever this is takes place when the convenant invade earth before master chief arrives on earth and kicks ass.

edit - if everyone remembers by the time master cheif arrives on earth the convenant are already in control and the earth armies are barely hanging on so this game would be the brute invasion of earth before master chief arrives,,, also in the orginal halo 3 trailer new mambosa is destroyed, this teaser is showing its destruction.

I have read all of the Halo books and believe me the book First Strike which is based between Halo 1 and 2, there 5 remaining spartans (the master chief included) in all of the halo games you only play as master chief, but i know for a fact that there are 5 SPARTANS remaining..... do me favour and stop pretending your someone you're not and get a life, you're pathetic!!

I've been going through it frame by frame, and several key things have stood out:

The city is New Mombasa, it's written on several walls.

There was an EMP blast.

The drop pods look like they are UNSC, and have that curved triangle marking that appears on a lot of UNSC gear/ships/etc.; This implies the Helljumpers, a.k.a. ODSTs.

It says Halo 3 at the end, and if you manage to pause it at just the right time after the 3 flickers for the first time, you will see the very faint image of the number 4 for a split second. I tried taking a picture of it, but it wouldn't show up for some reason.

My opinion?

Halo Third Person Shooter. Which is why they put Halo 3 in a lot just to mess with us, but the 3 in the trailer is referring to the fact that it'll be TPS not FPS.

It'll star the ODSTs as the main characters, and it seems to take place during the events of Halo 2, because I'm pretty sure that the explosion in the trailer is the Prophet of Regret fleeing Earth as he did in Halo 2.

I'm on Xbox live now and the teaser trailer is available for download. the description is as follows "High action and deep mystery await players in this new Halo 3 campaign experience. Prepare to drop" sounds like an expansion to me.

They played the "full band" and "bells/whistle" for this Teaser. Cg teaser usually lie about how great a game is aka killzone 2005 not show how bad it going to look.. The CG mix master should be fired after this CG. what a let down...!!!

Bungie has been putting alot of thier videos in both the quicktime format and the WMV format as alot of users on the internet either have on or the other or both.

This game sucks.

during the same events of halo 3, and it's supposed to revolve around the odst whic is the unsc drop shock team, that's why there's so much reference to "get ready for the drop"

The city is New Mombasa, the drop ships are UNSC marine drop ships but the camera says it cant identify them. They are most likely from a flood controlled UNSC ship and part of the city is glassed by a covenant ship in orbit as they land. Its been evacuated because the covenant typically glassed major cities first, but the flood are most likely dropping down to spred the infection. The last ship is the chief I think but I don't think we get to play him.

if that's what the gameplay looks like, it's the best looking game this gen, bar none, It looks like a comic book/cgi animated show.

Fear effect is last gen but its gameplay and graphic kills anything on the Wii and this video trust me even if you do not know me..lol

Fyi Please try out Parasite Eve also as well from PS1 library. The game is stellar..

smoking Halo 3 in visuals, and Gears 1 see played way more frequently online than Halo 3 on my friends list. I would hope if it were a entierly new game from Bungie, that they wouldn't let a game (gears) that didn't build up the Xbox brand since day 1, show them up on the system they helped get to where it is. Also the pressure would be on Bungie with the competition from games on PS3 such as Resistance 2/Killzone 2 coming out, that obviously look like what I wanted out of Halo 3 and what I will expect out of the next instalment of the franchise that comes from Bungie. If this a expansion pack, disregard all I've said. But if this is an entirely new game by Bungie, I'd want them to wait to the next Xbox before doing it. Cause I wasn't impressed with what they busted @$$ to do on 360. I also hope this isn't Microsofts way of trying to squeeze something out in 09 as if it will be major. Im actually worried but yet interested in what Microsoft has planned for us in 09 as far as 360 gamers, cause as far as we know... we only have Alan Wake which we know so little about!

Actually hoping that would be the teaser for that alleged Tactical Halo 3 Ghost Recon type game.

Well, whatever else can help the Halo 3 singleplayer campaign, people will gladly accept it.

Many viewed it as sub-par compared to the first two games.

You had the blue shift expansion as well as the opposing force expansion. I really liked how those two were alternate plays through the same time frame as the original half life.

This could be bungie's way of making episodic content for halo 3. Play through more of the New Mombasa war that the chief didnt take part in. It would be sweet if there were moments where paths crossed between you and the chief like there were in the half life packs. I would like a pack that lets you play as one of the flood.

This looks to be a good addition to the game.

I love this kind of trailer, just so cool, and "artsy-fartsy".
The street with the car and such look neat.
But when I saw "halo 3" flashed at the end, my heart sank.

Oh, I also found it both funny and interesting that the buildings and the street scene looked EXACTLY like halo's engine, which is neat when done in different ways.
