VR is a baby technology, it needs an older brother, like the wanderer in Fallout 4, to teach it about the world.
Fallout 4 on Switch 2 offers 30fps, 40fps, and 60fps modes, with graphics settings differing from PS4 and PS5 versions.

Following Fallout 4's anniversary update, Nexus Mods have assebled an Anniversary Collection of existing mods designed to offer a free refresh as an alternative

A decade on from its Game of the Year-winning triumph, Todd Howard reminisces on how Fallout 4 changed Bethesda Game Studios, its TV show adaptation and playtesting The Elder Scrolls 6.
They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.
Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.
So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.
I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
VR doesn't need saving from a company known to make decent games. But also buggy, unfinished, untested, uneven frame rate games that need patches. Do they even bother with betas and Q&A? VR needs a smooth experience or don't do it.
VR, unlike 3D, is entering sectors that 3D had never gone. Not just gaming. Educating students on the past/present/future, simulations for astronauts, how your house or building will look before being built in real estate, being part of a cinematic movie, seeing your music come alive or being part of the music video, creation of virtual art, how a car looks and test drives before being manufactured, virtual travel or sports entertainment...
I could go on and on. 3D is nothing like VR. VR simulates environment. 3D was 1 dimensional in 1 direction with limited depth. Notice I mentioned all that above before mentioning games?
No one game will be the face of VR. As each consumer has a different preference. Yes.More deeper experiences and more money invested has to be made. But Fallout is just a drop in a big bucket of water. Where it's not the best game or Bethesda not the best developer with the best game engine. So, no. VR will be fine with or without them.
There is no saving VR. VR will eventually be the future of most gaming, not any time soon, but the future. It is in it's infancy. Could Fallout or other games better the present realm of VR? Yes if done properly, but save? VR isn't going away.
People already crying about vr sickNess, I can only imagine how many of you will be whining and crying playing fallout in vr
Lol I read that like "Can Fallout VR save Fallout?" When did VR need saving?
I'm glad I never bought psvr, saved my money and bought a switch instead. Psvr needs a convincing E3, else don't try and convince yourself it was £350 quid well spent. If software starts coming then I might purchase down the line. Until then PS4, switch will do me fine.
