Sony division is making an HTC Vive VR game

UploadVR reports that Sony’s Wow Factory, which is a set of projects from the company’s innovation labs, unveiled a title called Gold Rush VR at the SXSW festival. Innovation lab projects are said by Sony to be “developed with a spirit of open-minded and unbridled experimentation”.

Lol! Now that's interesting. Part of Sony putting a game on a competing headset.

HL3 on PSVR confirmed!

'At Vive Studios, we're platform agnostic, and we encourage developers to be the same,”
Good to hear. A year ago they all were claiming working to promote VR together instead of competing but a few months later all of them were getting exclusive titles.

Yea all three companies want vr to succeed and I understand the importance of PSVR success was based in that it was projected to have more of commercial and casual audience. I'm carting my PSVR around to let people try I often suggest the Vive if they enjoy their experience. I'm personally satisfied with my PSVR. I love getting people through the door to VR.

It's not competing really, vive only works for pc. At the end of the day they both want vr to succeed and it's best for all involved to support the other tech.

Vive also recently announced to work together with Sony on bringing some of their VR games to PSVR...........

This is no different than Sony making PC games.

Aenea3365d ago

But they don't (anymore)!

Sony is putting its presence on the mobile and PC market sometimes so its not too unusual.

Kribwalker3365d ago (Edited 3365d ago )

Making the move to games as a service, makes sense to put your games on pc and competing platforms then. Taking a page out of MS book with widening the install base

I still remember the Sony Online days when Everquest was bringing in Sony some cash from the PC market. That's business I suppose.

Aenea3365d ago

Vive is also releasing some of their VR games on PSVR. Seems they have a deal going....

Sony had devs making pc exclusive games. This is nothing new.

XisThatKid3365d ago

When has Sony not been supportive of the PC industry industry they made/make computers. Plus They use to make PC games when they owned SOE

Good list but Thrill of the Fight 2 and Racket Club should be in this. TOFT 2 is one hell of a work out and even found myself watching boxing instructional videos in order to improve. Racket Club does an amazing job adapting tennis, badminton and pickleball into something that feels realistic but fits in with smaller VR spaces.

kevco3380d ago

Both of these are great games!

TOFT has already featured in 131XR's 'best' series: https://youtu.be/jExm8PbCVq...

It could be free and it wouldn't matter at this point. There isn't really a PCVR Market and I say that as a PCVR user. It is modders and enthusiasts with a few retail products on Steam.
