Free maps and microtransactions ? "Sigh" I'm not complaining but microtransactions are just beyond disgust me.

DiceAndRice3354d ago (Edited 3354d ago )

Wait until you see the prices... I guess that's why there's "free maps"

UCForce3354d ago

I already see it. Freaking expensive.

DiceAndRice3354d ago

It's crazy that some people will pay almost the price of two games for one set of these points.

Aloren3354d ago

It worked the exact same way 5 years ago in ME3. And it was entirely possible to play without ever using microtransactions. I prefer to get all my MP DLC maps , classes, and weapons for free and let those who want pay for it rather than having to pay for it just so that I have the satisfaction that noone can waste their money on microtransaction.

Nyxus3354d ago

No matter what you call them, they are still microtransactions.

Reaon3353d ago

There's nothing micro about these transactions...

Jurat3354d ago

Disappointing; although I probably won't be bothering with the multiplayer side of ME much.

Still looking forward to launch.

Perjoss3353d ago

Ive heard that the multi in previous games was fun, but personally im in it for the single player only, they can do whatever they want with the multi.

Elit3Nick3353d ago

I can vouch that ME3 MP was phenomenal, took the best parts of ME3's combat and turned it up to 11, hopefully it's the exact same for ME:A's MP.

Artemidorus3353d ago

No it wasn't, it got boring quickly, small maps with repeated enemies.

vickers5003353d ago

@artemidorus

Yes it was, there were tons of builds and ways of taking out enemies and keeping your team alive.

Free maps were added through dlc, as were an entire new race of aliens.

I was a mass effect 3 mp naysayer when I heard me3 would get mp, but when it actually came out, it was amazing and incredibly engrossing, especially if you're someone who enjoys co op.

Enemy patterns changed all the time, as well as how easy or hard they were, due to the constant balance tweaks.

Maybe you just don't like co op/mp.

strayanalog3353d ago

Well, its finally happened. I'm not surprised considering EA's way of doing things. Only thing left to do is answer with my wallet, which isn't opening for microtransactions or "Andromeda Points" as they try to soften the blow.

vickers5003353d ago (Edited 3353d ago )

Finally? ME3 had the same type of microtransactions.

It's less shitty than how other people do it at least, because they release pretty substantial mp dlc for free, not just a few skins/worthless weapons/worthless armor and one or two 8 minute side missions (and that's the BEST case scenario for free dlc).

strayanalog3353d ago

Finally as its here to stay, I mean. Shame Mass Effect 3's dip into that unholy water of microtransactions wasn't a one and done thing, but it's EA. You are right, though, at least the multiplayer dlc is free and not worthless.

Unoriginalplayer3353d ago

It seems any company that puts multiplayer into a game has to have a "store" to sell things. Unfortunately, there must be a lot of people who accept this AND pay for it otherwise they wouldn't bother with trying to implement a "point" system. To be fair if people want to pay for cosmetic enhancements then more power to them. Just like looking at a game like Rainbow Six: Siege or For Honor where people are spending tons of money on points just to look different in game.

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast479d ago (Edited 479d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul479d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow479d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake479d ago (Edited 479d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

ZeekQuattro479d ago

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast521d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine521d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast521d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman521d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast520d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

IAMRealHooman520d ago

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics556d ago (Edited 556d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac555d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992556d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX556d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9556d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne556d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast556d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne555d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog555d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay556d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000556d ago (Edited 556d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon555d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT555d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon555d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139556d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein556d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
