It would be nice to have for the people that want it. For me personally, it doesn't matter. I don't use browsers on any of my consoles because it's much faster to just use the browser on my phone.

It does mean the majority of the 4gb of ram will be used for gaming,

less pointless features and more features to improve gaming. If devs can utilize more of the Switch resources this is better.

After what Nintendo did to the Wii U amazing browser. I don't care if it there or not. That update they had killed the browser usage for me.

Web browsers are gimmicky? Ok then...

Regardless of the authors defence, it should and probably will have a web browser (first or third party). One I'm sure the author will also get plenty of use out of.

Switch has no need for a browser... until you try to use public wifi and have to go through the verification page

This is a good and bad thing though. The good, it means we might not get webkit exploits on the Switch. So it might last a little longer before being easily hacked. The bad, well it's sometimes convenient to have a browser on the same device. Xbox one had the best one because of the splitview. But really we can all just bust out our phones or laptops to do this now.

I really wouldn't mind having a pure gaming device, so performance and quality is focused on the game, and less about managing the OS resources.

I agree with Nintendo it's a games console, if u want to surf net there are other devices. For gods
sake most people own tablet, laptop, phone use them!! I always buy a console for games not to watch bloody films on it or play music etc. When I bought my Snes, Megadrive they did one thing
play great GAMES!!! Switch is aimed to play great games let's deal with it.

I disagree, I love the Wii U's browser and am truly saddened they are leaving it out this time, especially since the tablet style of the device just screams browser- I'll still be getting my Switch day one, it's just a little less shiny to me now- hopefully they correct this mistake rather quickly..

Falls under the same argument of "IPhone doesn't need an headphone jack...". And then you defend this point using the Batman technique "Because am Apple!"
