PCGH made ultra quality screenshots of Max Payne 2. They activated 16x super sampling and 64:1 anisotropic filtering.

The 2000s was a great decade for a lot of brilliant video games. Here are the ten best games of the 2000s that you may not have played.
You know usually when someone says "you may have missed" it's games that were lesser known, hidden gems, underrated games. These are all super high profile games that sold extremely well.
I would like the original max payne remade in a new engine with ray tracing. 😊
What is this list? These are all hugely popular games. I was expecting games like Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Advent Rising, Arx Fatalis, etc.
I've only played 3 on that list. Part of me feels bad about how little I used all the consoles I've owned as a kid. One bright side is, there's over 30 years of games to experience for the first time.

With Remedy and Rockstar announcing they're remaking the first two Max Payne games, what better time to start ranking the series?
For me it goes
3
1
2
I wasn't a purist that believes Rockstar killed off its noire vibe and they were a big bad studio taking over rares IP.
I actually really loved the story 3 told it's gunplay felt impactful and it did a fantastic job moving the IP into a modern standard
2-1-3 for me.
First one was revolutionary but was plagued by bad touchy controls on consoles, poor PS2 port and performance, Xbox version looked great though. Ending didn't do much for me, felt a bit empty.
Second one was better for PS2 and Xbox ports engine really showed its age even in 2004 but I like the tone of the story this time somehow.
Third one have flashier presentation yet very realistic and very challenging game looked amazing on PS3 but framerate are all over the place during gun fights I don't like how some chapters dragged on too long exhausting would be the word just too much gunfights even for action shooter like Max Payne felt like I needed a week off after I finished the game.
Sam dives into the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake announcement and whether this is a good thing for Remedy and Rockstar Games. Could a Max Payne 3 remaster be on the cards too?
Remedy made 1&2, R* made 3.
Remedy will only remake their game. 3 would be solely a R* effort, I’d expect at least
I’m still excited to see what they come up with. Always wanted a sequel to 3 despite its sunset ending but if they weren’t going to do it, always called for the originals to be remastered. Kinda figured Sam Lakes 20th anniversary of max video with him wearing his outfit likely had more meaning to it when it came out late last year
Playing Max Payne 3 almost gave me a seizure xD ..damn they really loved those flashy sequences and cutscenes lol. Did not bother finishing that game.
Damn that is impressive considering how old it is. I always liked this series, it was so dark, dreary, and sad. Not that I am emo or anything, LOL!, I just thought it had a great atmosphere and mood that was well done. It had the old school film noir feel which made it kick some serious ***.
Yeah, I've really got to pull this game out of retirement (if I can find the bloody discs). The game itself was fantastic, and the seemingly never ending supply of user mods just kept making it better.
64:1 anisotropic filtering? I didn't even know that existed!
I really liked the atmosphere in Max Payne 2... Hope Alan Wake takes it one step further
I really loved Max Payne 2 and I remember I replayed the game last summer on a harder difficulty level (I think it was Hard Boiled difficulty). The only issue I had with the game is the damn frame rate... the game had so many framerate issues (PS2 version) it wasn't funny, but I still managed to enjoy the game. I really hope that Rockstar comes out with a Max Payne 3.
