"From the mouse and keyboard to the humble pad – controllers have always been a part of our gaming experience. But with the release of PS VR, and the development of more powerful VR machines like the Rift, it does make me question if controllers will be around for much longer."

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

God I hope not. I just want to relax on my couch sitting down to game. Plus sometimes my fingers do things in quick reaction I don't even think about. Just reflex from playing a game. Doubt that would happen with eye tracking controls or whatever they come up with to replace mouse and keyboard or controllers.
No. Simple as that.
We have seen it so many times and every time it's the same result.
People call x revolutionary, say it will replace the default, it doesn't and it's forgotten.
For 30 years now, we still game on screens with a box that plays games and a controller or mouse and keyboard to control them.
And that is fine. They are standards for a reason. Because they work. And I've said it before and I'll say it again.
VR goggles limit the developer and player in their game.
Nobody in their right mind will use it for competitive FPS multiplayer.
VR limits developers because now they have to work their game around these goggles rather than actually make the game fun first and foremost.
Because unless it's in first person, why use VR? Why play platformers in VR? Why play card games in VR? Why play driving games in VR? Why play puzzle games in VR unless specifically designed for VR?
Not saying VR and controller-less gaming doesn't have a market, but they will never be the standard because of simple logic.
No.
yes.
I don't want it to, the option should always be there and it does not hurt to ha e those features in place x
