They probably hear how PC gamers dont really like console games and already have all the best games anyway, so think it makes little sense to put it on PC, at least initially. Best to put it on systems where their work will be appreciated. I'm surprised PC gamers are moaning, since when do they care about console games?

Having said that, they brought the PC version of GTA V out like 2 years after consoles and that didn't hurt their bottom line so they've clearly nothing to worry about financially, they'll probably let PC gamers have it a year or 2 later for a second windfall of cash.

Jokes aside they want people to double dip like GTA V and GTA IV. The other possible reason is Rockstar San Diego doesn't do PC ports and never has.

The PC market is simply way smaller and it's much more complicated to optimise a game for it...it's perfectly understandable they take their time with their PC versions, if they even do one at all.

How to beat piracy? Make game with both awesome single player and multiplayer. If some pirate doesn't even buy then it means he has no cash. Company that skips PC platform doesn't have balls to make great game on all points.

It's not always about the PC just as some folks don't think it's always about a gaming console.It looks though if you want to play RDR 2 you're going to have to play it on a gaming console first like they did GTA 5.

I've been on both sides of this: a PC gamer and console gamer. I won't tell people what to buy or how to feel... I Just know that I got tired of having a very expensive gaming PC that I built and always feeling jipped. Whether it was not getting a game at all or getting a ton of poorly ported, horribly optimzed games, I eventually realized what a waste of time and money PCs were and that it wasn't worth it. At least not these days.

I don't care what their reasoning is. The way I see it, PC gamers can stop whining right now, because we get left out as console gamers all the time. PC gamers already get the best graphics, the greatest indie titles, games that will never come to console because they almost fundamentally won't work, all of the best mil-sims, not to mention the best platform to experience Oculus and Vive VR on. So PLEASE stop whining. Because if I were a PC gamer, I'd have PLENTY of time to waste on the amount of video games your ALREADY HAVE. Not to mention your modded, ULTIMATE VERSION of GTA 5 THAT ALREADY EXISTS.

Sucks if it end up not coming out at launch but after awsome job they did with GTA 5 on PC I can wait for higher res textures, resolution and performance. Will probably do what I did with gta 5 aswell and buy om console now and PC later. Love it

I would imagine it is easier for them to optimize console versions first and then once they have the game shipped they can move more resources over to the PC port. People act like they "hate PC gamers" or whatever but it probably has to do with them wanting to get a well optimized game out to one market before they move on to the next.

I've said this many times before, but I'll say it again......if you only game on one platform, you're missing out. Period. How many times do you have to lose before you wake up?

I'm pretty sure it will come to PC after a year like GTA5. They leant last time people will buy their game a second time to have higher frame rates and better graphics.

Look at what happened with Arkham Knight, way too much effort and then pc gamers still whine and bash the game. It's not like it's a single platform, it's a bunch of platforms / settings, and even if it works perfectly they'll still say that it's not optimized for their oh so powerful gaming system. And as I say this, I'm not saying pc gamers are crappy customers, just highly demanding ones and that makes some publishers question whether they want to deal with it or not, that's for sure.

U guys are all missing the forumla that's being repeated again... They will drop it for consoles maximize there sales on those platforms .. then release an enhance version on PC within a year.. There is no way they are passing up on 5-6million they sold on pc with GTA V... it's that obvious

Let's be honest and admit half of the copies played on PC would be pirated copies. If half of PS4/X1 players were playing pirated copies we'd have no consoles, no games or versions for all platforms.

This is 1 of the reasons why i dont game on pc. Too many top ips never go or come very late. PC is a back up rather than a primary way to game.

Because laziness and greed, they can get some extra revenue if release on PC too, but the marketing machine on consoles is much much bigger, that´s why crappy, rushed and bug infested sh*t gain so much money if released first on consoles, so they focus first on that sector, it´s business, when they see revenue of console sales decreases, they´ll release it on the PC.

PC gamers should know by now R* don't care what you people think... Either RDR 2 will follow the path of RDR and give PC a miss or it will follow the path of GTAV and release around 2019 or so... So if you abuse them or write petitions , trust me it wont work with R*, they gonna ignore straight away.. As a gamer i know R* does things on their own terms.. I feel R* prefers Console over PC simply because they make more money from Consoles over PC... R* still earns a lot from GTAO from consoles over PC .. also piracy and mods are a major concern on PC. R* is very strict and professional at what they do , they simply wont listen to something which is not their style.. I have seen R* always does what they like, they never attend gaming conference, they release and announce games when they want to..

Remember when the feminist attacked R* regarding GTAV and which affected sales in AUSTRALIA, R* didnt give a damn and said we can't change anything if the gamers don't want to play thats totally upto the them... Other devs would have taken a step but R* didnt even care.. so This abuses against R* and petitions wont work..

The reason is simple, console games have lower standards than PC games. Frankly, I'm tired of Rockstar's mediocre games and have no intention of ever buying another.

Yes you have to wait longer, but you will hopefully (most likely) get a game which blows consoles away and works great, as well as being an awesome game.

Online multiplayer count is lower, therefore dlc and microtransactions are lower on PC.

Because PC games takes longer to make as there are so many different setups that the game has to work with, and because Rockstar prioritise the market they make the most money first. Which in this case is the Console market.

developers should never concentrate on PC only unless they want to go out of business. just because you have a gaming PC doesnt mean all of a sudden everyone has one. bottom line is most people game on consoles therefore consoles come first.

Because their games are largely single player based and the 'PC master race' saves money for their 'rigs' by simply not paying for single player games, instead stealing them from KAT. I wouldn't invest money there either, it's a business decision.

I came close to deciding on whether to get BF1 on my rig. Then i remember its a FPS on a PC. Graphics ain't enough to cover the fucking headaches with that shit.

piracy being one.. but also.. can someone clarify this for me. I'm not developer nor do I understand how to develop games but I always assumed that.. since all the files are there for you (particularly to mod) .. wouldn't other developers be able to disassemble their coding and utilize their engines or scripts or whatever to make their games? That's how I felt about GTA 5.. someone could literally go in.. mod the entire game and make a brand new game from it with minimal effort therefore making them reluctant to release on PC as someone could basically use their game to make their own

Because it takes 3 times as long to debug PC games properly unless they want to be Bestheda or ubisoft and release unfinished buggy games to PC gamers

Can't say anything about RDR1, but usually rockstar holds the PC launch in order to optimize it. I don't think PC ports are their expertise, so it makes sense to focus first on the most profitable platforms and then make an acceptable PC version. Better than delaying the release for everybody.

I dunno why you guys are so quick to defend them not porting RDR2 to PC. It wouldn't be much of a hurdle at all to port, considering that they already do plenty of development on PCs, and Rockstar being a massive company. Is it really such a bad thing that PC players want to play a game too without dropping a couple hundred bucks on something that will just end up collecting dust? Keep in mind that GTA sold at least 5 million copies on PC. I'll kind of wing this math here, but say all those copies were sold on Steam. Valve takes a 30% cut of the sale to the best of my knowledge. I'm assuming most of the copies were sold at launch (just like every other game). We'll say 4 million bought the game at $60, after Valve takes the 30% cut, Rockstar/Take-Two are left with $40 per game. $40 times 4 million is $160,000,000. If you think that is a small amount of money, there is something wrong with your concept of a dollar's worth.

tl;dr: It wouldn't cost a lot to port, Rockstar would make their money back several times over, and PC players shouldn't have to buy an entire console to play just one game

Developers like RockStar have just 2 problems on PC. First one hardware! Lots of VGA card and lots of CPU and different memory types of course different chipset and device. Like endless system specs on PC side and if you want to sell it you should do lots of optimization to each different specs PC`s.

Second one of course TORRENT! It`s killing the industry and giving lot of damage to developers. That`s all simple as that. That`s why lots of developers first release the game on game consoles and make some money after that start porting the game to PC.
