Heard great things about this franchise but have yet to play it, will hold out for the PC version though.

kaiserfranz3620d ago

Great choice, on PC it can enjoyed in glorious 4K. Master Race FTW!

ShadowKnight3620d ago (Edited 3619d ago )

PC version will look incredible and go over 60fps!!

sammarshall1023620d ago

So will the X1, S, and Scorpio versions

OpieWinston3620d ago

May want to watch some of GoW 2/3 cutscenes footage to understand the set up for 4. It does take place 25 years after the third.

christocolus3620d ago

That's true. He needs to play through Gears 2/3 or just watch the cutscenes to better understand 4 but anyways the game has unlocked frames and 4k res on PC so I'm guessing it will be same on Scorpio?

Kleptic3619d ago

the game has 'possible' unlocked frames and 4k res on PC...Seeing that very few released cards are all super great at running any game released this year at 4k and 60 or above fps...all of which are well north of 6tflops...doesn't paint a great picture for scorpio hitting the same marks...

it may do 4k to some degree...but i'd be more happy and accepting of a console hitting full hd at 60fps minimum...currently still isn't an option for 90% of games...1 step at a time.

DrumBeat3620d ago

I think you're all angering fans of a certain console, but imagining this on PC... just awesome.

Lennoxb633619d ago

Be sure you're prepared to take an a** whooping. The skill ceiling is really high in this game. It took me years to get really good at it.

Gears has been the series to show off the graphics of the days. Expecting the same from this one

KaiPow3620d ago

When in doubt, throw more power at it.

Mostafeto3620d ago

DirectX12 can surely help improve performance.

Like every API on every console in every generation. That's normal.

Ravenor3620d ago

Consoles don't generally update these things in the past, the 360 never switched from 9.0c, PS3 never moved on from PSGL.

butchertroll3620d ago (Edited 3620d ago )

@Ravenor

LOL! Did you ever heard that API's receive constant updates during console lifecycle even though API is under the same name. API's always moving forward, whatever they are called

Quote :

The jump from Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 2 wasn't down to the API, it was ND improving their use of the Cell SPU.
.....

SDK update improvements, dude! Less memory footprint, easier Cell's SPU usage etc.. Those updates are normal. And also depends how some devs are also experienced with hardware. Some devs are experts, some are not.

30fps sucks. Especially on an OLED.
