Why Google Chrome is already a great browser

Cyril Kowaliski of The Tech Report Writes:

"So, you've seen the news. Google has released an early beta of its first web browser, Chrome, which mixes elements from Safari and Firefox into a brand-new recipe. I could go into detail about the browser's fundamentals and features, but you might as well just try it yourself and read the introductory Google comic strip if you're after details.

Since I've ranted and raved about Internet Explorer 8 in two separate blog posts, I feel like sharing my perspective on a different effort. After all, Chrome has much in common with IE8. Both browsers come from massive software companies with gargantuan budgets, both browsers are early betas, and both browsers are more than simple evolutions from prior designs. Microsoft decided to outfit IE8 with a completely new rendering engine, while Google borrowed some of Chrome's building blocks from other browsers but built everything else from scratch."

Lame
Not gaming related. Fuel for Sony fanboys to flame Microsoft maybe?

Gold3nStat3KID6464d ago

just need to fix a few things....incognito mode FTW..lol.

mirroredderorrim6464d ago (Edited 6464d ago )

It's very fast. I tried it knowing they cease and or seize your privacy rights, then uninstalled it. I hope this pushes Mozilla to do even better so that we can still browse without our habbits being sold off to the highest bidder. Still, if they do cut into Micros marketshare, it'll be at the cost of the lemmings who don't like to read EULAs, TOSs and the like.

Good browser, though. ^^

Guitarded6464d ago

Why is it here. Can you game on a browser? I don't think so. So why do I keep seeing these stupid articles?

Vicophine6464d ago

Yes you can, I could be playing Runescape on it..

JOLLY16464d ago

Actually, yes you can game in a browser. Second, it is for pc people. If you don't want to read about stuff for pc's, don't click on the pc links.

LeonSKennedy4Life6464d ago

I see what you mean dude.

We're just saying it's untrue.

We know web browsers aren't exactly designed AROUND gaming or anything...

This isn't actual GAMING related though; you're right.

The thing is, it's "news4gamers.com" and the majority of gamers are into stuff like new web browsers. I'm surprised we don't have a "boobs" section yet...like G4...haha.

Lumbo6464d ago

In case you failed to read the pagename, its "NEWS FOR GAMERS", not "News about games"

The post is in "Tech" and it fits there.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing16d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9216d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit16d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing16d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9216d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
