This is to damn cool. I love these plug and play units. You can use wii classic controllers on this.

Now they need to make a snes and n64 one. Id love there to be a tg16 plug and play with games like bonk 3 and magical chase.

bonkee3600d ago

I would buy an n64 one of these in a heartbeat!

The 10th Rider3600d ago (Edited 3600d ago )

I'd die if they made a SNES one. Especially if they got some of those classic RPGs on there.

They should also make a portable gameboy advance one. With all the hype behind Pokemon go, one that had all Pokémon games gameboy advance era and prior would sell like hotcakes.

Moonman3600d ago

THIS IS WHY I'M SUPPORTING THIS! lol

SNES, N64, Gamecube Mini anyone? YASS!

NukaCola3600d ago

Shut up and take my rupees

JEECE3600d ago

A SNES mini would be awesome. Heck, maybe Nintendo should just release a sub-$150 virtual console unit with 100 of the best games from their first 3 gens. I'm sure a surprising number of "regular consumers" don't even really understand the virtual console aspect of recent Nintendo machines.

MurDocINC3600d ago

Wait, no blowing required?

Silly Mammo3599d ago

I can see this as the Must-Have game of this holiday season.

badz1493599d ago

I honestly think that these are just emulators installed on Raspberry Pi with mini NES casings.

mark_parch3599d ago

a SNES version would be amazing

$60 for these 30 games is a steal, whether you're looking at Virtual Shop prices or even second-hand cartridge prices.

Absolutely no reason to NOT pick this up, unless you already have a majority of these and a reliable way to play on your TV.

I'm curious if it will have any image scaling/filtering like the Retron5 or various emulators. That'd be nice.

I'm getting this just for 2 player bubble bobble. That game is a classic . Big pineapple drops 😂🍍

PhucSeeker3599d ago

@pcz Apparently i'm retarded and hate gaming now. Learn something new everyday.

I have looked at the games and it appears there is something for everyone.

The only thing I don't like is the classic NES controller which IMHO was a great at giving you very sore hands if you play for too long. Still if it possible to get the "sleeves" (gives the controller a sort of boomerang shape) or better yet be able to plug in the GameCube controller or even the SNES controller which for me was surprisingly comfortable.

Interestingly the console comes with an HDMI cable so hopefully the electronics will enhance and smooth the games since an 8bit game looks awful as in very pixelated if displayed on a large screen TV.

InTheZoneAC3600d ago

despite it's terrible shape I never complained about it as a kid...no matter how long i played it

darthv723600d ago

the unit looks to be using the same ports found on the wii controller. That means you could be able to use a wii classic controller in place of the regular nes style one that comes with it.

Which opens the possibility to them releasing a snes model at some point supporting the same connection options.

eagle213600d ago

Dat d-pad tho. It's still the BEST!

Nathan_Hale533599d ago

I have never had an issue with the controller then or now. Same with the SNES controller.

quent3599d ago

I remember the little blister wholes I got on my thumbs, we just powered through the pain, I also thought it was my own fault for gaming too much, that's what everyone(grown ups), told me of course.

Kribwalker3600d ago

I still have my original NES hooked up to my tv, but i only have like 6 games so I'll pick this up for the extra games alone

pcz3600d ago

Its insane. Beat thing ever

many (including myself) wondered what the hell nintendo would do this christmas, since the wiiu has no games. obviously, with this NES mini coming out, this is nintendo's big product this christmas.

definitely not a criticism- its genius. perfect. i certainly will buy one!

Ninja_G_Aidan3599d ago

On Ebay you can purchase a certain cartridge that holds every Nes game available.

EddieNX 3600d ago (Edited 3600d ago )

This is a really clever move by Nintendo to give everyone a taste of nostalgia before the NX launches! With things like this, Pokemon go, Theme park, NX it looks like Nintendo might be making a huge comeback! Imagine how much Pokemon sun and Moon will sell with the right advertising and a cheap SKU.

The futures bright for N

RosweeSon3600d ago (Edited 3600d ago )

Who needs advertising when you have Pokemon go ;) the amount of coverage it's been getting.
An advert does help here tho being as its a completely Seperate thing... Such a cool lil thing.

Erik73573600d ago

Just advertise it in pokemon go lol..

VerdicLinwe3599d ago

The new Pokemon games are NEVER cheap. You're kidding yourselves. All Pokemon Go is doing is telling Nintendo they can abandon game consoles. Nothing more.

R00bot3599d ago

Hahaha. Nintendo wouldn't abandon consoles if the Wii U had sold 1 million.

EddieNX 3599d ago

When each Pokemon game has been selling 10 million+ each before Pokemon go?

uth113600d ago

If you can't blow on the cartridges to make them work, it's not a true NES experience!

Good-Smurf3600d ago (Edited 3600d ago )

Oh I remember my brother used to do that often with Super Famicom carts, too bad i was 5,6 year old at the time.
Good thing I'm now own both Family Computer and Super Famicom, things that I missed, amazing legendary console before my time.

Deadpooled3600d ago

I remember reading up on something that blowing on NES/$NES cartridges makes the metal bit oxidise faster and reduces the life of the cartridge

Fist4achin3599d ago

Funny, my NES was so bad, I had to use another game cartridge shoved in on top just to hold down the game i was playing after blowing the dust out...

WelkinCole3599d ago

LMAO!!. And when it works its like the sweetest sound ever the start up music to the game. For me it was Double Dragon 2. I would literally jump when I hear the start music which I can remember like it was yesterday.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio23d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing23d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit23d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing23d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
