Grain of salt! If this gen has taught us anything it's most games are delayed by at least six months to year from the original date mentioned.

Gaming_Cousin3642d ago

I'm not taking it with a grain of salt because of a delay. I'm taking it with a grain of salt because its from an online retailer. We have had so many "leaked dates" through retailers that came out to be very false

bouzebbal3641d ago (Edited 3641d ago )

cool but shouldn't gameplay come first?
No way this is out in 2016, except if it's a low budget game.
Let's see Monday

souldestroyer143641d ago

@thras
You doubt this game will come out because no gameplay was shown yet you have ff7 in your list of games to come out this fall...

XisThatKid3640d ago

Sucks for me it's not coming out on PS4

Sciurus_vulgaris3642d ago

The late fall release seems a little dangerous for a new IP. MS would be better of releasing this game in the summer.

Gaming_Cousin3642d ago

How is a fall release "dangerous"?

Sciurus_vulgaris3642d ago

@The Gaming_Cousin Bigger, more mainstream, already established franchises will be launching at that time.

Gaming_Cousin3642d ago (Edited 3642d ago )

@sciurus_vulgaris

You are right. Here's hoping people this time go away from Call of Duty

Sciurus_vulgaris3642d ago (Edited 3642d ago )

@Gaming_Cousin
I think COD sales are going to drop significantly this year. It will still likely outsell every other title, but the sales will be down. I wonder what the budget of ReCore was? If the game was/is a lower budget AAA game it won't have to sell millions to make profit. I don't personally believe the title will launch in fall.

Kingthrash3603641d ago

cod,bf1,psvr,gears,ff15,dishon ored2,tlg,ff7 remake, neoh, neir2, nms, to na,e a few...I know I'm missing something but for starters....and also no gameplay and you expect it to come in a few months? that would be a first, no? I'm intrigued by the trailer...but then again I was intrigued by....colonel marines too. so ill wait for a in game trailer before I get too hype on this

DivoJones3641d ago

As long as "fall" means September it'll be fine.. even early-to-mid October would be fine. Anything after that is a kiss of death.

Agreed, it happens.

I still don't even get why it was announced to release Q1 2016, with zero gameplay shown. I don't mind games getting revealed early as many times they still need the funding and can't really get support of a game with no community interest, but not like this.....not a damn Q1 2016 window of a product with zero gameplay shown. I question MS, I question the team ability to even deliver something worthwhile if they are over promising a release of something we've yet to see running...

ShottyatLaw3641d ago

Well, I remember back during the announcement there were comments that the title was being played internally by folks at MS already. Who knows how far along it was at that time, but a playable build a year ago may make a Fall release more than possible.

I tend to agree with some of your skepticism, but I'm trying to be optimistic. I really want to see publishers actually do this: Give a small tease to build anticipation, do a full reveal 3-4 months before release, then release the damn thing. I really am sick of the long preview periods we keep going through.

You can't convince me that games wouldn't sell without the long build up. That initial hype has just as much impact, imo.

JasonKCK3641d ago

Don't know what planet some of you are from but new Ip's get released in the fall all the time and do very well. The people who want CoD are going to get it no matter what. Much of that fanbase only plays that one franchise. Some people act as if the fall schedule has been set in stone for the past 30 years. smh

Soldierone3641d ago

It's already been delayed that long. It was supposed to be out already, but was delayed.
Being the developer behind it and the lack of gameplay though, I don't think we will see it before 2017.

Double_O_Revan3642d ago

The initial reveal was only last year. And it's by Comcept, who have yet to release Mighty Number 9. I'm gonna say, 'don't hold your breath.'

OpieWinston3642d ago

I've heard Armature is doing most of the heavy lifting.
Comcpet AND Armature are Co-developing ReCore.

We do know Comcepts rep.

jeremyj29133641d ago

Didn't kno that. Maybe I can have hope for this game now. Thanx for the info.

showtimefolks3642d ago

yes i think it's coming out in 2016

e3 will hopefully plaint a much more clearer picture

freshslicepizza3642d ago (Edited 3642d ago )

no gameplay last year and up to now but they think it will be out this year? i doubt it but it would be a nice surprise.

theRedDragon3642d ago

Sunset overdrive was like that too. It was announced with a CGI TRAILER In 2013 E3. Then gameplay was shown the following E3 and a Fall release that very same year. So it could be possible.

uptownsoul3641d ago

Unfortunately ReCore might underperform like Sunset Overdrive did since its likely to get overshadowed like Sunset did.

No Way3641d ago

Sadly, Sunset Overdrive was a blast, if you ask me.

game4funz3641d ago

Yes very possible. But I'm worried about the devs involved and their schedule

I personally think there's better on gamepass then what was listed. State of decay imo is better then anything listed. Recore seemed alright for what I played on there also.

roadkillers1239d ago

Is Recore any better to play now?

Concertoine1239d ago

Yeah, especially on One X or Series X. It kinda feels like a PS2 platformer, but in a good way. I liked it.

KillBill1239d ago

Odd that he specified 'Game Pass Ultimate' instead of just 'Game Pass' just so he could include a relatively weak choice comparably in 'Alice: Madness Returns' which is available with EA Play. SoD was a far better overlooked game to have listed.

Crows901239d ago (Edited 1239d ago )

Dont know why they keep listing ultimate. Gamepass is the better value....but the reason I think is that ultimate includes online gwg.

MadLad1239d ago

I mean, as someone who games both on PC and Xbox, Ultimate makes a whole lot of sense. There's console exclusives and PC exclusives. And, at the end of the day, EA Play is still a perk of having Ultimate. When I open Gamepass, the EA Play catalogue is sitting right there for me. It's as much part of Gamepass as any other title I'm looking at, right?

Game Pass certainly could have helped Sunset Overdrive which was underrated, imo.

"But the focus of the day is Remedy’s 2016 critically acclaimed Xbox exclusive, Quantum Break, and how Game Pass could have given it a much-needed bump."

Quantum Break received overall good reviews. Not great, but good. Critically acclaimed? Sorry, no. That's hyperbole.

"And fast-forwarding a few years, we saw what a boon Game Pass was for Gears 5. Not only did Game Pass help get the game into the hands of more Xbox and PC players, but it also helped it exceed Gears of War 4 in sales."

Gears 5 was launched on Steam day one. Gears of War 4 still isn't on Steam. I think that's important to point out if you are going to allude to reasons why one game outsold another.

darthv721899d ago

SSOD was free on GwG not too long after release. That is always fun for quick pickup and play. QB is one that I hope gets FPS boost support. It would just feel more natural being more fluid but it too is a good game. I assume it being on GP has somewhat helped it get some recognition.

CrimsonWing691899d ago

There’s no denying how good Gamepass is but I’m still foggy on how it benefits developers/publishers. Like, do they just get one lump sum of cash to put the title on Gamepass? I mean, I personally canceled my pre-order for Outriders when I saw it’s going to be on Gamepass day 1. Judging by that I’m not sure Gamepass helps with the sales of games, rather it does expose games to more players, but how much of that equates to sales down-the-road?

RavenWolfx1899d ago

I heard payment was based on number of downloads and time played in addition to a lump sum, but I am not sure on the accuracy.

demonseye1899d ago

I actually agree on this. because a lot of games will get played that people they normally wouldn't pay for. and its 10 dollars per month which is 120 dollars per year. The average game cost day one is around 70 dollars. i buy a lot more games than 2 on a yearly basis.
and well the gamepass for me just made my option ps5 pc combo. as long as they release every game on pc I don't even have a reason to buy an Xbox. so i wonder if this plan is financially smart in the long term. mind you Xbox already received money for every Xbox game sold regardless if it's Microsoft owned or not.

Revisiting Recore: Xbox One’s Lost Gem

Article on the story of Recore which includes new information on cut characters and covers its rumoured development hell. "Recore’s always been a title that’s fascinated me, as it's clearly a game that never fulfilled its potential for whatever reason.  It's filled to the brim with bugs and glitches and yet, despite that, still managed to charm many who played it. It’s the first game that I wanted"
