ScreenCritics takes a look at the growing list of this generations games - including Titanfall, EVOLVE, Destiny and The Division - to understand why gamers abandon these much hyped games soon after launch.

It has been ten years of the franchise and a celebration is planned.

It's been almost 10 years since we first stepped foot in Ubisoft's extraction shooter, The Division and it looks like the developer will celebrate by giving fans a chance to replay the experience in "definitive edition" form.

from paulsemel.com: In this exclusive Q&A, the author of the new technothriller based on "Tom Clancy's: The Division" discusses how it ties to the games while also bringing its own story to a close.
I think the majority of gamers move on because they are attracted to the new and shiny... and there is a lot of new and shiny these days.
This is why I dont buy games at Full Price, I got the Best Buy Gamers Club so I get it for 47 at launch. Also, if you wait a couple weeks to a month it typically drops to 49 to 39.99 and then you can get 20% off THAT. Also, if you pick up a game for 39.99 and it sucks, you can take it back and get most of your money back. I recently got UFC 2 for 31 bucks after all my discounts, and i was able to trade it back to best buy for 30 bucks! Can you imagine if I paid 60??? Wake up people, stop paying Full Price for a Half game.
why didn't anyone see this coming after destiny. Never bought either game, but i was honestly surprised destiny hype lasted so long. If they already have the sequel/dlc planned it's never gonna work. In the end both games dissapointed me with what they ended up being. i think a big game has to have alot of different aspects to keep everyone hooked and neither delivered. They both ended up just being co op shooters rather then the fleshed out modern mmo they could of been. My biggest problem with both of them however, is that they didn't deliver on the scope i think they tried to hype.
take this with a grain of salt since i only played the beta's but that was enough for me to know they wern't gonna deliver
i hate the 60 bucks model (especially when it comes to digital downloads), why can't we have more games at 39.99 or lower, if a game is multiplayer only or a game has a really short campaign, the price at launch should be lower, well at least we have the new ratchet and clank at the right price
Well destiny still has a large community so I feel like that's a bad example. The division isn't dead yet either but I get the feeling it won't last as long.
