I think if anything they need to look at some single player third person action adventure games with a focus on shooting by elements. Max Payne, Uncharted, even that game WET for example with a blend of fighting styles found in SIFU

What? Fuck no. If it were to take inspiration from an Ubisoft game, perhaps, Splinter Cell:Conviction/Blacklist. The combat in those is already somewhat John Wick like, center axis relock style shooting, just add more melee.
