Remedy Entertainment are a very good studio. The developer has never quite reached the superstar status of your Rockstars, your Bungies or your Naughty Dog.

"The developer has never quite reached the superstar status of your Rockstars, your Bungies or your Naughty Dog."

WTH?

Why can't Remedy be their own thing?

Godmars2903704d ago

They are their own thing.

They're just not recognized as being on the level of those other companies. Quantum Break isn't their Uncharted, Halo or GTA as far as these reviewers are concerned.

Let me guess this reviewer is full of it too? Too many avg to low scores from reviewers to say that these ppl are full of it. Also some notable reviewers like Giant Bomb slayed this game. Does it have more 8s and 9s than lower scores? Im sure of it but it has too many lower scores to say that the ones tht give it a low score are full of it.

Its a decent game but masterpiece like some of you notorious fanboys shout, it is not.

Cant wait for Ratchet and Clank and UC4 and Dark Souls reviews next. Lets see how good they do.

And of course this isnt on the level of a Naughty Dog game, only the same fanboys who spout tht bs day in and day out thought that lol. Now we are back to reality.

Im going to buy this eventually though bcus it has more overall gd reviews and seems like something id like.

starchild3704d ago

Well, one thing I know is, if a person like you was writing the review for this game you wouldn't be fair and the score you gave wouldn't reflect a sincere opinion but rather one distorted by bias.

Wallstreet373704d ago (Edited 3704d ago )

Yeah bcus im a mindless fanboy like you and i have a distaste for remedy games even though ive been enjoying their games since Max Payne lol

Foh with tht bs anytime someone criticizes a game or company someone likes its bias. Why dont you check my history on Quantim Break and on Street Fighter V and see how biased i am. I own ps4 and even said SFV deserves some if its low scores due to content.

I swear yoy fanboys are a sorry bunch. Anything and everything your fav dev or company makes is a 10 and can't be criticized. Its a weird fascination lol ieven said it seems solid based on overall scores smh lol

Including this score on the overall reviews of 103 total reviews, here is the breakdown

http://n4g.com/channel/quan...
10s = 6
9s = 28
8s = 36
7s = 13
6s = 8
5s = 1
4s = 4

For an overall avg of 8.1

Well done Remedy and as like all games, not everyone taste and opinion are the same but judging that the majority of the reviews that are 8s and 9s, mission accomplished. XBOX gamers and Windoes 10 players will be happy. I know I am :)

Overload3704d ago (Edited 3704d ago )

Why are you using N4G's average score? That's just weird.

Open Critic
http://opencritic.com/game/...

Metacritic
http://www.metacritic.com/g...

Rookie_Monster3704d ago (Edited 3704d ago )

Hmm, because this review score here you submitted and posted are also not on Meta or open critics and is found here on N4G. So what you are saying then is we should remove this review if only reviews on Meta and open critics count? Am I hearing this correctly?

Com on dude, if you are going to openly post a review score here on N4G from a publication that is outside of metacritic, don't turn around and use meta or another outside rating source as defacto source and dismiss all the other reviews here.

You can't have both so make up your mind please. ;D

Overload3704d ago

No, I'm saying it's weird to only post one aggregate that has the highest score of them all.

3704d ago
starchild3704d ago

Why is that weird? Reviews are just someone's opinion. Why do we have to bow down to the particular scores posted to metacritic? We're on N4G, why can't we refer to the reviews/scores posted to N4G? It's not like there's some massive difference anyway.

Overload3704d ago

Of course they're weighted. It's to stop fanboy sites that give any exclusive on their console a 10 trying to fluff the average.

starchild3704d ago

But what about the sites with fanboy writers that give a game a low score just because it's not on their favorite console? And who gets to decide which sites have more value? It's all so arbitrary. Those decisions would be different from person to person.

Rookie_Monster3704d ago

@Overload,

"Of course they're weighted. It's to stop fanboy sites that give any exclusive on their console a 10 trying to fluff the average."

Then, this site and the review score you posted here are not on Meta and the site is not registered or accepted by meta, so do you know for a fact that this is not a fanboy site with an agenda to downplay a console and only those that are giving 9s and 10s are 100% fanboy sites ? Of course not as no one knows as reviews are subjected, meta or not.

PS and Xbox only sites are abundance on Metacritic, as no one seems to question their legitimacy as they are as fanboy site as they come. LoL

Awaiting your next submission of another low-avg QB score that is not on meta so we can continue to have a nice chat on this topic. :)

rainslacker3703d ago

what's more weird is he's taking the time to tally up the scores.

Rookie_Monster3703d ago

@rainslacker
"what's more weird is he's taking the time to tally up the scores."

Took me less than a minute. Much less than hunting down as many megative scores as one can, creating, linking URL, cut and paste out negative section of an article to create the story, submitting and waiting for friends with the same agenda to approve it, just for the sake to downplay a game.

LOL

rainslacker3703d ago

Wasn't really hard to hunt down the negative scores to be honest. They were all over the top of N4G.

When I first came on, I was a bit worried seeing them, but going through the pages, and seeing the higher scores put me at ease since I'm getting this game.

I read some of the good reviews from better known sites, and they seemed to be fair. Then read the more critical reviews to see what they felt wasn't right with the game.

So far, the predominate criticism in the lower scores is that the TV show kind of breaks things and doesn't work as well as Remedy obviously hoped, and that there are some technical issues that may not work for some people.

The TV show is the only thing that might have hindered my purchasing this game, as I feel it breaks from the flow of the game itself. I'm not against cutscenes, even long runs, but long chapter breaks could kill it for me, as I prefer cutscenes which have a good pacing and integration with the actual things going on within the game itself.

The technical flaws mentioned aren't things that would keep me away from the game, or at least the ones that would keep me away seem rather marginal and not as dire enough to keep me away.

The story I'll decide for myself if it's good or not, because in all these years, I've learned to never let reviewers determine for me if a story is good or not because I seem to look for different things from a story, and even good stories I can find bad, and bad stories I can actually enjoy.

However, never knew N4G had a review thing like that. Pretty cool to learn after all these years. Thanks.:)

Meta critics score as of now = 78.

OrangePowerz3704d ago

Well shall see about Windows gamers with UWP. I hope it's a better port compared to Gears.

Chivas113704d ago

Looks like I'm skipping QB but not to worry cause Ratchet and Clank will be here soon

from what read about the game 6.8 is overly generous, people are comparing this to rambo the video game

starchild3704d ago

That's some really selective reading there. I guess you missed all the 8s, 9s and 10s this game has got.

Single A games and live service games. Those make sense

S2Killinit798d ago

None of it makes sense. But its happening.

Ps5conehead797d ago

That’s up to Microsoft they want return on there investment. From buying up those publishers. That’s what there in business for. And they made a mistake putting day one exclusive on game pass. So now Microsoft wants to profit any way they can.its called buisness . Just like Sony putting games on pc a year are two after ps5 launch.
So if they can make money off PlayStation and Nintendo. They will do that. And I bet soon real soon they will release some aaa exclusives .and I bet one day it will be same day release

TheEroica797d ago

Sony gamers begging for Xbox games.... Who would've thunk it?

BISHOP-BRASIL797d ago

Yeah, because random site off the internet represents all Sony gamers, they have the letter of attorney and all...

S2Killinit797d ago

Lol what a spin. You dizzy?

AsunaYuukiTheFlash797d ago (Edited 797d ago )

We don’t care about shovelwares. Get that junk out of PS5

StormSnooper797d ago

More like MS begging to put their games on PlayStation.

Keep begging Sony gamers!

Friendlygamer798d ago

Some of these seem to be exclusive for lack of enthusiasm of the publisher rather than because of deals. A lot of cool indies skip ps for some reason like katana zero, el paso, elsewhere and gunbrela

S2Killinit798d ago

Even more indies skip xbox. We know that right?

Friendlygamer798d ago

Quality over quantity, Microsoft got some really interesting and curated niche games on their machines, maybe in part because of gamepass

S2Killinit797d ago

Quality and MS are not things you bring up in same sentence.

shinoff2183797d ago (Edited 797d ago )

Alot of indies skip xbox to. It goes round and round. Personally I think your off base on that but no need to have the argument.

Friendlygamer797d ago

Between katana zero, valheim, Battletech, el passo... I don't feel off base. maybe ps got a million of light novel games that will never release on Xbox but like I've said, I'm talking about niche games highlights, the 10%.

  Heck, it's probably thanks to Microsoft that the s.t.a.l.k.e.r games came to console ps included, meanwhile Sony backwards compatibility continues to be extremely anemic.

And I'm sure most ps5 users are happy to ignore these games and just play wathever new 3rd person action game is trending but it's cool that Microsoft gives some love to smaller audiences and software preservation

shinoff2183797d ago

Again your off base just to be snide. All it's showing though is your ignorance.

One light novels wtf is that even. Ps has plenty of pretty damn good indies.

Speaking of indies and ms being responsible. You know F.I.S.T. of course you do alot of you guys just support gamepass. Well here's a history of Sony being responsible for helping indies. Look up the China project from Sony.

Lastly lol your ignorance showing again. Sony has plenty of games. Personally third person is better then first anyway but that's besides the point. Sony gets so many games that xbox doesn't get because yall don't support the games. Jrpgs being a great example. I personally am not into every Sony first party game. Alot of us aren't. On the other side you don't get to eat often so you gobble up everything. Me personally God of War not my cup, etc. For me I'm into jrpgs and ms just can't touch Sony on those. Again because the Xbox base doesn't support it. Devs dont wanna waste their time or money. Hit me up when falcom develops a game over there.

Speaking of third person narrative games. Aren't yall drooling over hellblade 2. The first one was Sony exclusive at one point. Another not my cup game. Showing we don't have to fall in line and agree we love everything Sony puts out. The facts are they sell though unlike elsewhere(not nintendo)

StormSnooper797d ago

You are same person as GamerRN, yes?

Abnor_Mal798d ago

They really think PlayStation fans would want to play Redfall? Pfft.

Personally nothing on that list would be any game I’d want to play.

TwoPicklesGood798d ago

I’d absolutely love Hellblade 2, Palworld, and Quantum Break on ps5 as I’m sure tons of others would too. There’s nothing wrong with wanting games from another console and its sad that people try to act like they aren’t interested in them.

shinoff2183797d ago

While indont agree with the games. I agree with the point. Your not wrong.

DarXyde798d ago

Sunset Overdrive makes very good sense. Palworld might.

Don't know about the others. Hellblade II does make sense given the original launched on PS4 first. Quantum Break was a massive letdown for me. I absolutely hated the whole TV show thing and I don't think anyone should have to relive that on modern hardware.

Now that Remedy owns Control, it’s time to reclaim Quantum Break

Alan Wake 2 studio Remedy Entertainment has reclaimed the rights to Control, and now sci-fi hit Quantum Break deserves the same treatment.

Totally agree with that especially when Quantum Break has several references to Alan Wake and Alan Wake make allusions to QB.
I do believe that MS and Remedy can work things out and MS has usually been nice to devs and publishers regarding IP.

Obscure_Observer814d ago

They can't "reclaim" what was never theirs.

Petebloodyonion814d ago

I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP.

Lightning77813d ago

MS is not doin anything with it. Plus they're doing a multiverse of their own so Remedy needs the IP.

If MS wants to have exclusive let it be timed for 6 months then go to other platforms. MS seems to be, let's say, generous with some if their games as of late.

Or have QB2 be multiplat from the jump, put it on GP. Keeping QB2 as an exclusive is kinda weird these days.

Obscure_Observer813d ago (Edited 813d ago )

@Petebloodyonion

"I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP."

Good luck

@Lightning77

"MS is not doin anything with it."

Japan Studio is dead nd Sony isn´t doing anything with Bloodborne either! Yet I can 100% guarantee that there´s a far bigger demand for a sequel, remake or even a remaster for that game from both PS5 and PC gamers.

That been said, why don´t you ask Sony tol sell the IP to Fromsoftware now that according to rumors, they bought Elden Ring from Bandai?

ZwVw814d ago (Edited 814d ago )

Reclaim? That would mean that they actually owned the ip at one point, which they never did (MS always has). Apples & oranges. Remedy always owned the Control ip (just not the publishing), as they have with Alan Wake.

About as likely as them getting the Max Payne rights from Rockstar.

mastershredder814d ago (Edited 814d ago )

Sending you game to a publisher does not mean they get "rights to own it " unless that was part of the contract (monetary/ strategic reasons). 505 was the publisher they worked with to publish and distribute it, it dos not mean that 505 flat out "owned" anything, clearly they did have a special arrangement that made them open to limit their publishing rights. and so here we are and big whoop

Jingsing813d ago (Edited 813d ago )

Yeah get Quantum Break PS5, only if you put it on disc with all the associated movie material.

isarai813d ago

I mean they got the Alan Wake IP back from MS, so I feel like they could get QB back as well
