I forgot about this game. I wanted i play it when it came out.

Godmars2901137d ago

Well, its still on GP if you've got that.

Sonic18811137d ago

The game was mediocre at best. It wasn't anything special.

Petebloodyonion1137d ago

Did you like Control? It's often listed as one of the top 10 best PS4 games

Sonic18811137d ago (Edited 1137d ago )

I actually thought Control was decent but it was definitely better than Quantum Break.

https://youtu.be/IW2Yeekqqt...

DarXyde1137d ago

I... Unfortunately have to agree. It was actually one of a handful of reasons I got an Xbox One. It was also my lesson learned where I realized that Remedy has to make a certain type of game for me to like their work. I really enjoyed Alan Wake, but I really didn't care for QB and skipped Control as a result. The live action stuff was definitely unique and an interesting spin on things, but it really just ended up annoying me.

Crows901137d ago

Its got great gameplay...tv stuff is whatever but not too bad. Game was too short for sure.

Zeref1137d ago (Edited 1137d ago )

It was definitely special. Story could have been better but it's worth playing for the special effects and the powers alone.

PrinceOfAnger1137d ago

Imo It has better gameplay than Uncharted 4 the shooting is more fun with the powers i beat both games but uncharted got better story, quantum break is no less than a 8.5 would love to see QB2.

MadLad1137d ago

And I found it largely underrated. I liked it more than control.

franwex1137d ago

It’s a decent game, but I did lose interest and did not finish it.

Control is much better, but it does start a bit slow. Very slow.

Sonic18811136d ago

I fell asleep playing it especially when the long cut scenes started

Sciurus_vulgaris1137d ago (Edited 1137d ago )

It’s odd that Quantum Break is leaving Games since MS owns the IP. However, there maybe a license that needs to be renewed in order to keep the game on the service.

sparky771137d ago

Yeah I bet it's to do with the TV Show part, likely something to do with licenses with soundtrack, actors or even prop usage like the cars in the show.

Lightning771137d ago

Perhaps MS gave the IP to Remedy. Disappointing from a creative stand point as MS could of done a Quantum Break 2.

Though this could be one of those cases where none of MS studios wants to work on a sequel which makes perfect sense because They don't own that engine and they would have to reboot it and with a different engine.

Remedy is too busy with Alan Wake 2 and a few other projects to do a QB2 sequel. I think it would be cool to have all 3 characters I'm a single game to team up and combine their strengths to take out the big threat marvel MCU style.

Sciurus_vulgaris1137d ago

I highly doubt Microsoft would give the Quantum Break Ip to Remedy. Microsoft paid for the game’s development, marketing and licenses. I think Quantum Break is being removed from gamepass due to licensing of music or actor contracts.

Eidolon1137d ago

I enjoyed it enough after the Xbox One X enhancement, maybe a bit too run on with the narrative, but the gameplay, graphics, and mechanics are good, I can see where Control stemmed from. I'm pretty close to beating it on hard, too. 2 weeks is plenty, won't care too much when it's gone since I practically did most of the clean up.. less compelled to do 1000GS than platinum.

1135d ago
LoveSpuds1137d ago (Edited 1137d ago )

I guess I best give the game a try, plenty of games which didn't review well that I have really enjoyed.

I also think Remedy and MS deserve some credit for trying something different in respect of experimenting with merging a game with a TV show. On paper it does sound like an interesting idea I think.

SullysCigar1137d ago

I like good games. I like good TV. This blends mediocre elements from each to make a dull experience. I felt robbed of my time, but that's often the case with Gamepass.

thesoftware7301137d ago

Sully FYI,

No one values your opinion on anything Xbox related. You can pretend that you are objective, but you are not.

Crows901137d ago (Edited 1137d ago )

But this game didn't originally release with gamepass. Im a playstation fan way over the crap xbox is doing but lets stop being the stereotypical fanboy.

This game has nothing to do with gamepass.

SullysCigar1137d ago

^ I see you've failed to notice that this article is ABOUT GAMEPASS @Crows90. No big deal, but let's not pretend my comment bears no relation to the topic at hand. Unlike Mr Objectivity here, who's opting for off topic personal attacks, because he can't handle a different view to his own.

Lightning771137d ago

"I felt robbed of my time, but that's often the case with Gamepass."

Considering AAA and AA games release on GP. Games of all types.

But go ahead and explain what you mean by this then.

thesoftware7301137d ago (Edited 1137d ago )

You can call it a personal attack if you like, but it's not, it's an opinion directed, directly at your comment.
Your comment that was conceived and forced concluded to diss GP. Besides what I said is true, anyone on this site that likes anything on Xbox would never take your opinion on Xbox related games, or services seriously, you pained your own bio on here buddy.

The truth is your opinions are biased, and take any opportunity so "Attack". You claim to be on topic then mention being robbed by GP, when in reality this was a game that launched outside of GP and then later added, how is GP robbing you? You could have bought the game in many different ways, even on another platform.

It reeks of an untrustworthy opinion.

I got a even better question for you, why in the blue hell if something keeps disappointing you, you keep using it!? If GP makes you feel robbed and you keep going back, you are either lying and trolling...or you are truly living up to the definition of inanity.

SullysCigar1136d ago

^ @Softy, you tried way too hard to sound like you have a clue about my gaming habits and you're putting words in my mouth because you're incensed that I hold a different opinion from yours. I don't value your opinion on anything regardless of the subject, because most of your comments are thick as mince.

I'll go ahead and qualify my statement for @Lighning77, because while he doesn't like my opinion, he's not being a pathetic manchilld about it and is just asking me a reasonable question.

I played this game on Gamepass and was so disappointed by the time the credits rolled, I wanted my time back. This happens to me regularly with films too. With Gamepass, I've often been tempted by games I don't recognise, that sound good or look good in the trailer, only for them to be crap. There's SO much filler, you end up only playing the games everyone talks about and hidden gems are rare indeed, so I feel like Gamepass is a time drain and I get less enjoyment from surfing that service than if I just pick my games in the good old-fashioned way, doing my research. If I wouldn't be happy to buy the game, it's not worth my time. With Gamepass, at times I feel like I'm channel-hopping on the TV and never actually watched anything, so that gaming time is gone and I didn't scratch the itch.

thesoftware7301137d ago

You should definitely give it a shot, don't listen to some of these people on here for an objective opinion on anything that has to do with Xbox, they will always paint a negative picture.

The production values on the game at the time were top notch, and it definitely had a Remedy feel..nice shooting, great powers, and well acted movie segments..littlefinger(from GoT) and Lance Reddick did a bang up job.

Shane Kim1137d ago

Well objectivly, most people thought it sucked.

babadivad1137d ago

It's really good and worth replaying twice. I loved the story and the enemies are far less cheap than the enemies on control.

I loved it.

Crows901137d ago

If you read the lore that you collect it is very very interesting. I hope they surprise us with a sequel...it would be really good if they brought what was in the text lore into the game.

1135d ago
shinoff21831137d ago (Edited 1137d ago )

Defiance was actually before this it was tied in to a syfy series. Was a multi-player game.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/...

It was a tie-in to the Syfy show of the same name. The game was released in April 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

Fun fact this is also the game that wanted to do cross platform. And ms said f that the 360 wasn't allowed. Then they cry about it some years later.

https://kotaku.com/i-saw-th...

"As cool as this sneak peek was, Trion can't let the finished Xbox 360 game connect to the PS3. "Microsoft won't let Sony players play against them," Rodberg said, before suggesting we change the topic to something less sensitive"

My guess it's cause ms was actually doing good then Xbox one came around got squashed and ms went right for that sympathy card.

thesoftware7301137d ago

Can you stop throwing dirt for one second? what is wrong with you?

It's bad when you have other PS enthusiasts telling you to relax.

MadLad1137d ago

It's a good game. Not sure why people seemed to have a problem with it.
Though it also did come out at the time their fans were begging for Alan Wake 2.

It was a fun time for me. Not overly long so you have plenty of time to give it a shot before it leaves GP.

A big reason why I don’t like game renting .

1137d ago Replies(2)
Godmars2901137d ago

But you're not renting. You're subscribing.

AT the mercy of whatever MS deems to offer, in whatever form they deem to offer it in, so long as you pay. And pay. And maybe pay for a bit more.

Again, you're paying for whatever THEY want to offer.

1137d ago
onisama1137d ago

why again? you get at least a year to finish the game.... if you can do it you should be using the other option: buying it

FallenAngel19841136d ago (Edited 1136d ago )

You’re against the concept of people being able to try multiple games for a lower price?

If you want the game you can still buy it. Subscription services don’t stop you from doing so

Even beyond games, are you against renting any room they appliance as well

You're still overlooking this Remedy sci-fi shooter, and its 89% cheaper on Steam Deck

Before Control Resonant launches, you need to play Remedy's mind-bending Quantum Break, one of the best third-person shooters around.

Single A games and live service games. Those make sense

S2Killinit788d ago

None of it makes sense. But its happening.

Ps5conehead788d ago

That’s up to Microsoft they want return on there investment. From buying up those publishers. That’s what there in business for. And they made a mistake putting day one exclusive on game pass. So now Microsoft wants to profit any way they can.its called buisness . Just like Sony putting games on pc a year are two after ps5 launch.
So if they can make money off PlayStation and Nintendo. They will do that. And I bet soon real soon they will release some aaa exclusives .and I bet one day it will be same day release

TheEroica787d ago

Sony gamers begging for Xbox games.... Who would've thunk it?

BISHOP-BRASIL787d ago

Yeah, because random site off the internet represents all Sony gamers, they have the letter of attorney and all...

S2Killinit787d ago

Lol what a spin. You dizzy?

AsunaYuukiTheFlash787d ago (Edited 787d ago )

We don’t care about shovelwares. Get that junk out of PS5

StormSnooper787d ago

More like MS begging to put their games on PlayStation.

Friendlygamer788d ago

Some of these seem to be exclusive for lack of enthusiasm of the publisher rather than because of deals. A lot of cool indies skip ps for some reason like katana zero, el paso, elsewhere and gunbrela

S2Killinit788d ago

Even more indies skip xbox. We know that right?

Friendlygamer788d ago

Quality over quantity, Microsoft got some really interesting and curated niche games on their machines, maybe in part because of gamepass

S2Killinit787d ago

Quality and MS are not things you bring up in same sentence.

shinoff2183788d ago (Edited 788d ago )

Alot of indies skip xbox to. It goes round and round. Personally I think your off base on that but no need to have the argument.

Friendlygamer788d ago

Between katana zero, valheim, Battletech, el passo... I don't feel off base. maybe ps got a million of light novel games that will never release on Xbox but like I've said, I'm talking about niche games highlights, the 10%.

Heck, it's probably thanks to Microsoft that the s.t.a.l.k.e.r games came to console ps included, meanwhile Sony backwards compatibility continues to be extremely anemic.

And I'm sure most ps5 users are happy to ignore these games and just play wathever new 3rd person action game is trending but it's cool that Microsoft gives some love to smaller audiences and software preservation

shinoff2183787d ago

Again your off base just to be snide. All it's showing though is your ignorance.

One light novels wtf is that even. Ps has plenty of pretty damn good indies.

Speaking of indies and ms being responsible. You know F.I.S.T. of course you do alot of you guys just support gamepass. Well here's a history of Sony being responsible for helping indies. Look up the China project from Sony.

Lastly lol your ignorance showing again. Sony has plenty of games. Personally third person is better then first anyway but that's besides the point. Sony gets so many games that xbox doesn't get because yall don't support the games. Jrpgs being a great example. I personally am not into every Sony first party game. Alot of us aren't. On the other side you don't get to eat often so you gobble up everything. Me personally God of War not my cup, etc. For me I'm into jrpgs and ms just can't touch Sony on those. Again because the Xbox base doesn't support it. Devs dont wanna waste their time or money. Hit me up when falcom develops a game over there.

Speaking of third person narrative games. Aren't yall drooling over hellblade 2. The first one was Sony exclusive at one point. Another not my cup game. Showing we don't have to fall in line and agree we love everything Sony puts out. The facts are they sell though unlike elsewhere(not nintendo)

StormSnooper787d ago

You are same person as GamerRN, yes?

Abnor_Mal788d ago

They really think PlayStation fans would want to play Redfall? Pfft.

Personally nothing on that list would be any game I’d want to play.

TwoPicklesGood788d ago

I’d absolutely love Hellblade 2, Palworld, and Quantum Break on ps5 as I’m sure tons of others would too. There’s nothing wrong with wanting games from another console and its sad that people try to act like they aren’t interested in them.

shinoff2183787d ago

While indont agree with the games. I agree with the point. Your not wrong.

DarXyde788d ago

Sunset Overdrive makes very good sense. Palworld might.

Don't know about the others. Hellblade II does make sense given the original launched on PS4 first. Quantum Break was a massive letdown for me. I absolutely hated the whole TV show thing and I don't think anyone should have to relive that on modern hardware.

Now that Remedy owns Control, it’s time to reclaim Quantum Break

Alan Wake 2 studio Remedy Entertainment has reclaimed the rights to Control, and now sci-fi hit Quantum Break deserves the same treatment.

Totally agree with that especially when Quantum Break has several references to Alan Wake and Alan Wake make allusions to QB.
I do believe that MS and Remedy can work things out and MS has usually been nice to devs and publishers regarding IP.

Obscure_Observer804d ago

They can't "reclaim" what was never theirs.

Petebloodyonion804d ago

I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP.

Lightning77804d ago

MS is not doin anything with it. Plus they're doing a multiverse of their own so Remedy needs the IP.

If MS wants to have exclusive let it be timed for 6 months then go to other platforms. MS seems to be, let's say, generous with some if their games as of late.

Or have QB2 be multiplat from the jump, put it on GP. Keeping QB2 as an exclusive is kinda weird these days.

Obscure_Observer803d ago (Edited 803d ago )

@Petebloodyonion

"I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP."

Good luck

@Lightning77

"MS is not doin anything with it."

Japan Studio is dead nd Sony isn´t doing anything with Bloodborne either! Yet I can 100% guarantee that there´s a far bigger demand for a sequel, remake or even a remaster for that game from both PS5 and PC gamers.

That been said, why don´t you ask Sony tol sell the IP to Fromsoftware now that according to rumors, they bought Elden Ring from Bandai?

ZwVw804d ago (Edited 804d ago )

Reclaim? That would mean that they actually owned the ip at one point, which they never did (MS always has). Apples & oranges. Remedy always owned the Control ip (just not the publishing), as they have with Alan Wake.

About as likely as them getting the Max Payne rights from Rockstar.

mastershredder804d ago (Edited 804d ago )

Sending you game to a publisher does not mean they get "rights to own it " unless that was part of the contract (monetary/ strategic reasons). 505 was the publisher they worked with to publish and distribute it, it dos not mean that 505 flat out "owned" anything, clearly they did have a special arrangement that made them open to limit their publishing rights. and so here we are and big whoop

Jingsing804d ago (Edited 804d ago )

Yeah get Quantum Break PS5, only if you put it on disc with all the associated movie material.

isarai804d ago

I mean they got the Alan Wake IP back from MS, so I feel like they could get QB back as well
