The Division – E3 2013 Reveal Trailer vs. PC Max Settings Graphics Comparison

Gamestar:
We compare the graphics of Tom Clancy's The Division on PC with maximum graphics settings with the E3 2013 Reveal GamePlay Trailer. An overview of the used graphics settings can be found at the end of the video, it includes some Nvidia GameWorks features. PLEASE NOTE: due to the dynamic weather and altered light source positions (the sun doesn't have the same ecliptic) the scenes are not 100% identical.

Downgrade Downgrade Downgrade Downgrade Downgrade!

I agree. 2013 was more atmospheric and detailed.
Still a good looking game, though. Shouldn't diminish the fun, if you like the gameplay.

The E3 2013 footage was running real time and it was just a vision for what there game would be when it's done. Given that back in 2013 the game was only rendering probably that 1 street and didn't have all the crazy networking and the weather system was probably static back then it's impressive how close the game comes to that vision. Easily the best looking open world MMO like game I've played.

Been playing it maxed on PC and it does look really nice, but not the same as what they showed back in 2013. To be honest though that demo they did had a lot of fishy things about it so anyone who believed it can only blame themselves.

Fishy Fingers3724d ago

I wouldn't say they can blame themselves. The footage was depicted as gameplay and while they always include the proviso of 'work in progress' it's irregular for the consumer to expect a substantial downgrade (or at least used to be) such as this. Of course take things with a pinch of salt but it's fair to expect a certain level of quality when it's advertised as such.

My eyes might fail me, but I think it looks actually better now.

Tapani3723d ago

Maybe yeah! But hey, it is still pretty close to target render.

I've got it maxed out on my PC & it's a beautiful game. How anyone can moan how it looks is beyond me, it's one of the nicest looking games I've played in a long while, runs perfect too. Does it look like it did in e3, dunno I didn't see it running real time just a trailer from a gaming site.

I curious, what rig do you have to max out this game? I got 2 980 ti sli, i5 4690K overclocked to 4.4, and 16 ram, with killer amount of space 2TB, SSD 250GB and SSD 500GB.

With my rig the game's frames runs all over the place? I am getting 60fps to 45fps in 4K. Maybe your max out at 1080p or even as high as 1440p which is the sweet spot for me.

Yeah I am on default Ultra settings. OK I've not maxed the AA out, but its not jaggie so no need. I play on my couch using an Xbox controller so my tv is 1080 with a perfect 60fps, really happy with it. I have a single 980ti by the way with oc'd i5 at 4 gig 16 gig ram..

Man fuck you guys and your 980s I'm still sitting here with my 970 feeling like a loser.

Ashunderfire863724d ago (Edited 3724d ago )

Cool 1080p is the sweet spot, while 4K we have to make some sacrifices to at least maintain 60fps, but my rig for this game is all over the place lol! even with two 980ti it still struggles to get that stable 60fps. Man this and Crysis 3 are both demanding games in 4k just wow! Maybe 2 Titan X would be just a tad bit better not much.

Don't feel bad Majister_Ludi your 970 is better than any console and you can easily play this game on high settings with a decent frame rate. You can probably stick to 60fps on medium and some high settings in 1080p. There are too many settings on reflections and lightening this game don't need all that much to look sexy.
