Tom Clancy's The Division - E3 2013 Versus Final Version Comparison [Same Scene]

DSOGaming writes: "Tom Clancy’s The Division has just been released on the PC, and it’s time to compare the E3 2013 build that wowed everyone with the final build. The good news is that the game starts in the same place where the E3 2013 demo started, so let’s see whether the final build is as good as the E3 2013 one."

WOW that is a HUGE DOWNGRADE!

Ubisoft still lying to consumers LOL!

BiggCMan3698d ago

Except the game plays exactly the same as their 2013 vision, and that matter more to people who just want to have fun. Graphics are great, and this game still looks great. Tell me how this downgrade affects your life in any way? Tell me how it affects your playing experience in SUCH a significant way that it's an entirely different game now? Grow up dude, only children think graphics are everything. I appreciate photorealistic games like The Order or Driveclub just as much as the next guy. But I also appreciate when a lot of work is put into a stellar gameplay experience and a vast open world is made for us to play in. THAT'S what matters most.

Kalebninja3698d ago

he's probably one of those that didn't buy it and is just here to be a critic to ubi.

Dark-soul3698d ago

Tell me what right does company have to lie to customers and show product which they know will not look that good in final build? you are ok with that?

why they don't show downgraded version first and if they have possibility to make it better they just make it better when game launches?? want to know a secret? because they earn more money that way, by lying to people and creating hype etc. Cant believe you are so silly.

gwumper9873697d ago

@Dark-soul
I understand your point but to be fair, when a company consistently shows the game along its development and shows how it looks at each point I'm not sure it's exactly misleading. They have shown videos representative of the final product for a long time now. People have extremely easy access to the game to see what it looks like now. I understand that it's disappointing that it doesn't look as it did in the initial showing; I'm disappointed to, however I believe that they have done a good enough job in the more than TWO years since it's announcement to show the final product.

The game still looks really great. This isn't a Watch Dogs situation where the final game looked like a beefed up last gen game. And honestly if you thought the game was going to actually look like that you were naive. The devs have previously said that at that point the game was extremely early in development, and the demo was created solely to show people the sort of experience they were targeting. It was not a representation of the final graphics.

I understand when people complain if the final game looks like crap, I get angry at that point too, but it's not like The Division looks bad. The graphics are great, and the atmosphere is very well done. There is still a lot to enjoy visually. Just relax, people, and enjoy the game.

Vegamyster3698d ago

It really depends on the time of day & weather, this is a SS i took from the Beta and it looks great.

The game looks and plays amazing...even on consoles.

Genuine-User3698d ago (Edited 3698d ago )

I criticised The Division quite some bit during and before the closed alpha. But I got to give to Ubisoft on the final release. They have delivered a fine looking product.

The game is absolutely stunning. Just take a look at this section I captured on my PS4: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

"Ubisoft still lying to consumers"

The only way that makes sense is if the game was never shown in it's current form until launch. There was an open beta, but beyond that we've known what the game looks like for, what, at least a year?

Honestly, there is a significant downgrade but the game still looks great

TwoForce3698d ago (Edited 3698d ago )

Well, it looks better than Watch Dog. But it's still significant downgraded.

Kalebninja3698d ago

Well watch dogs was a last gen game.

meche3343698d ago

What makes the game look so bad is the lighting. its horrible now

kraenk123698d ago

The lighting is some of the best features in the game and looks spectacular, even on PS4.

meche3343698d ago

Not as good as it used to be. it looks dull now. look at the e3 2013 lighting and tell me that the lighting looks good

hiredhelp3698d ago

Here we go lets bash a good game cos of a preview build showcased in 2013 its not final build in 2013 I really enjoyed the beta im going enjoy full game.
Everytime A company takes a risk tries to bring new IP unless its exclusive on a console it gets bashed, Give them break.

Artemidorus3698d ago

But it's not a good game it's an average game.

kraenk123698d ago

True, it's not good. It's great even!

Malphite3698d ago

How many hours have you invested into the game to form an opinion?

Artemidorus3698d ago

Ubicon still want it's full retila price and a season pass.

Downgrades and average gameplay what a great combo. It's like Watch Dogs all over again.

kraenk123698d ago

Stop hating the game is fine. I bet you don't even own the game.

Artemidorus3698d ago

Wouldn't want to after playing the beta enough times. Shoddy downgrade with basic shooting.

5/10 game

Pongwater3698d ago

"It's like Watch Dogs all over again."

I bought Watch Dogs cheap and stopped playing a few hours in.

I started playing The Division at about 2am, played until about 4am, slept until about 8am, got up and played all day until stopping for dinner, and now I'm about to play some more. I find your comparison hilarious, but I do acknowledge that no game is for everyone. For me The Division is indeed a great game. First Gold edition I've ever bought and I'm more than happy so far.

Artemidorus3698d ago

The comparison is based on two games that have provided a downgrade and average gameplay.

I'm sure many might love it but for me it's basic as they come.
