The reveal of the HTC Vive price and bundle deal has taken many by surprise. VRFocus reached out to a number of developers for their thoughts.

Viveport, the VR retail platform from HTC is now giving developers 90% of their game revenue, instead of a 70/30 spilt like Steam.
It could be free and it wouldn't matter at this point. There isn't really a PCVR Market and I say that as a PCVR user. It is modders and enthusiasts with a few retail products on Steam.

Are you planning a Halloween Party this year? How about those friends and family that live far away? Vive has a plan for you.
I'm pretty sure everyone is going to the VR chat Halloween Party already.

Morels: Homestead, a relaxing game in which you can create your own unique homestead, is available now for PC VR.
I wouldn't take these guys opinion on pricing very seriously since they probably wont have to pay for any of the VR HMDs from their own pockets. Ask a couple of friends who are interested in one of these, their response will be more in line with the public consensus.
800 for the HMD+ a GTX 970 + a beefy i5 CPU + smaller upgrades needed to support the aforementioned mean your wallet will go through a hefty diet for some time.
It's too expensive period, no justifacations can change that at all!
