of course, the smaller the better

fitfox3786d ago

it's how you use it that matters

Rofl what a clickbait title/picture. They're referring to video game worlds people. No idea why there'd be a picture of a woman looking at a ruler all surprised looking lol.

But in regards to world-size in gaming, no, size doesn't always matter. All the developers need to do is add more content within their worlds to make it more interesting. Take Ocarina of Time for instance, fantastic game with an open world, but not necessarily grand by any means, but with all the dungeons, minigames, and sidequests, there's plenty to do. And add on top of that, the future world where you play as Adult Link (same world, different content) adds even more.

But really, in the end, it just depends on the game. The Witcher 3 greatly benefited from having a huge world map, and it makes perfect sense in that game because it was supposed to be grounded in a semi-realistic world, where traversing the wilderness is part of the journey. Bloodborne benefits from a giant world because the sprawling paths and constant forks in the road add to the player's loss of sanity (lol). Monster Hunter is a great example of a game that doesn't need a huge world, because you do different challenges in the same world over and over, fighting different monsters and bosses as you go.

So no, size doesn't *always* matter in regards to gaming. In regards to "other" things though, I think that just varies from person to person. Some will say "OMG YES" and others don't give a shit. But either way, this article is stupid.

LightofDarkness3786d ago (Edited 3786d ago )

No, it's an enticing headline. By your reasoning, any headline engineered to get the attention of readers is clickbait, which is practically every headline ever.

Clickbait refers more to articles with headlines that are too vague to discern their true meaning and thus use obfuscation of essential information to gather clicks to an "article" of decidedly vapid or useless content (usually a stupid, uninteresting video), which could have been conveyed simply in the headline. These are more of the "You'll Never Believe What Happens Next..." variety.

From this headline, anyone with a drop of sense could discern, given the context and source, that this article would be about game length. This is not like the articles that are actually clickbait, where you are intentionally given no clue as to the true nature of the article and the weaker willed among us are compelled to click for closure.

Bahamut3786d ago

Your response could not have been more pretentious rofl. But thanks for clearing up this very minuscule difference.

PlayStation is GTA and GTA is PlayStation, they're going to kill it when GTA 6 is finally released 😏.

Maybe that's because xbox and PC have much more variety in their online offerings.

ActualWhiteMan69d ago

And the players arent hood rats

S2Killinit69d ago

Like in what parallel universe?

blacktiger68d ago

That might be true but you forget, all of Microsoft 1st part games are also available on Playstation and soon day one release

I know of people that own a PS4 exclusively to play gta5, and that’s all they play. I’m sure some of you here know of someone too. I’m surprised at how low the revenue for PC is.

CrimsonIdol69d ago (Edited 69d ago )

I can't tell you what it's like on PS5 but it's absolutely horrific on PC. My experience is constant hackers and a game that feels like it hates you playing with your own friends too, always seems like a chore to manage to join some minigame together without somehow ending up in different server instances n shit. If I were going to bother with it I'd probably do it on console too.

My guess is also that there are modded versions of GTA online with massive communities on PC that are way better than the rockstar approved version and Rockstar isn't making money out of those.

S2Killinit69d ago

Those are the types of things people forget when they are talking about PC gaming.

ActualWhiteMan69d ago

That’s because most PlayStation fans are ghetto. Source…Every ghetto person I know, plays on PlayStation.

Outside_ofthe_Box69d ago

Rich folks like Epstein did play Xbox, so maybe you're right.

S2Killinit69d ago

Lol maybe you need a new perspective on life?

Aloymetal69d ago

Be glad the ''ghetto'' PS fans around the globe are spending money because they're practically single handedly keeping the gaming industry from crashing and burning. Can't say the same for MS and their miniscule green fanbase.

ChunkyMonk68d ago

Yet those "PS fans" didn't save Concord, Marathon, Highguard or Helldivers 2. Hell, Helldivers 2 and Marathon are only on life support cuz of PC. lol

blacktiger68d ago

ghetto or not, they are gamers right? Now what about Call of Duty same thing>?

Actually really surprised with the PC revenue which is an abysmal 3% overall vs Console (PS and Xbox combined) at a whopping 97%. It now makes sense why Take Two/Rockstar prioritizes Consoles. Heck, they could even delay the PC port release 2 to 3 years and it wouldn't make any impact at all.

ocelot0769d ago

I think its due to FIVEm. A lot of GTA PC players seem to just play that so don't need the shark cards or a way to even use them for fivem.

LostPotato68d ago

They already delay PC ports by a year or two already so nothing new.
