Game looks amazing. Cant wait to play. Wish remedy would make Alan Wake 2 though :(

kaiserfranz3686d ago

I think they said something like it could happen. But they are so slow that it won't be until the next Xbox, at the very least!

MachuchalBrotha3163685d ago

Oh nice, I didn't see that article. Hopefully it is...I hope we get Alan Wake and American Nightmare on BC. Come in MS, make it happen.

christocolus3686d ago (Edited 3686d ago )

@codelyoko

I think they will once QB is done.It seems they are already getting ready to start work on a new project. They recently posted new job openings for a number of positions including the following a few days ago.

Technical artist
Senior Producer
Outsourcing Manager
Senior / Lead AI Programmer
Generalist Programmer
Senior Tools Programmer

@Alexious

Agreed. One of the major hurdles developers face at the beginning of their projects is getting the new engine to run perfectly on the new hardware. You are right. any other game from them should take less time.

Alexious3686d ago

Hopefully, with the Northlight engine all optimized now they could be quicker with the development.

Not that I particularly mind them taking some time with it as I still need to play the game, have it sitting there in my library.

BLow3685d ago

Yes it does. Dispite all the hate Xbox gets on this site, this is a game that I would buy one for. Next Black Friday may make me get one. Got my new TV last year so it might be on this year. How I will have time to play games on 2 systems? I have no clue as I barely have time with my PS4 with NO GAMES....hahaha /s /s joking for the sensitive types. I just want to play and have this game in my collection. Big Remedy fan...

Wallstreet373685d ago

"Despite all the hate Xbox gets on this site"

Yeah because it was all unwarranted and all the criticism is just relegated to this site and not almost 90% of the sites out there. Honestly a good majority of ppl criticizing xbone are xbox 360 owners.

This game looks promising and i have been following it closely, hopefully it turns out great so i can buy it later on down the line when i get an xbone.

nbalive893685d ago (Edited 3685d ago )

@codelyoko Quantum Break is a day one buy for me can't wait. Hopefully alan wake will be the next game remedy makes.

Cybermario3686d ago

interesting, let's hope they actually deliver and we dont get weird issues :)

ccgr3686d ago

Hope it's worth the wait!

Alexious3686d ago

It's been a very long wait, but Remedy Games has a reputation of eventually delivering, so fingers crossed.

Khaotic3685d ago

You dont need them crossed. I get people being gunshy these days but remedy does not ship broken games. They would just delay it again

MCTJim3685d ago (Edited 3685d ago )

"How various rendering performance and efficiency issues were solved with DirectX."

I wonder if they are referencing DX12?

They really shouldn't have announced this game when they did.. The hype for this game went downhill after so many years in development the same goes for No man's Sky...

I predict this game will have the same fate as Ryse it will be forgotten after 1-2 month...

Saijahn3685d ago

You think very few are excited for an xbox exclusive? This game looks fantastic. The delays have been worth it.

3685d ago
DLConspiracy3685d ago (Edited 3685d ago )

I Predict that your prediction is way off. Lots of people are excited for this game.

It usually takes a lot for me to buy a game like QB at launch full price but ever since E3 2013 I've been 100% down for this game. Already have it preordered.

There is literally no comparison to Ryse other than both having phenomenal graphics.

Imp0ssibl33685d ago

Rise has a mediocre story so yeah, it won't really be hard for Quantum Break to be a lot better.

spicelicka3685d ago (Edited 3685d ago )

Don't know if you're been following this game, it's been getting more and more hype on every article and I've seen nothing but praise.

All these predictions go down the drain closer to release. People will be just as happy when it comes out as they were when it was first announced. The plateau of hype is common with all games that are announced early, but doesn't have much impact upon release, unless the game went through a significant downgrade or in questionable direction.

KiwiViper853685d ago

uncharted 4 was announced before quantum break... What are your thoughts on uncharted?

jb2273685d ago

No it wasn't...QB was announced at the XBO reveal around April 2013, UC4 was announced at the PS4 launch in Nov.

Technically, they've never brought it back. It's been downhill since Xbox One, which was its zenith. It hasn't 'gone back' since nor did it decline in such a fashion before.. We're dealing with a single peak company here, not multiple.

Yapps8815h ago(Edited 15h ago)

Only Nintendo can “bring it back”. WiiU to SW and SW2 is a crazy turnaround.

Sony and Microsoft have just been going more and more downhill.

PS3 early vs late gen did comeback

DarXyde6h ago

Are you too young to remember the PS3?

The console launched a year later, more expensive, and with the worse version of multiplatform games and a weak online infrastructure. GTA IV also had the dlc exclusive for about a year.

Add in that X360 had a much better controller (and with force feedback), PS3 was painfully slow without installs, lacked a trophy system for a while, and came out within days of Gears of War and Wii...? Sony mounted a crazy comeback. And this is WITH Xbox having some killer exclusives including JRPGs like Blue Dragon, Tales of Vesperia, and Lost Odyssey. To say only Nintendo can "bring it back" is just ignoring history.

It was absolutely Microsoft's generation for a while.

fr0sty36m ago

PS5 has been outselling Switch 2, so I'm not sure where you get the "Sony has just been going downhill" from.

darthv722h ago

What about after they dropped the kinect and added in BC, and then later the One X? That was definitely better than when it launched. That gen had many peaks and valleys for XB. This gen... not so much.

Christopher18m ago(Edited 17m ago)

Those all happened at the same time. Kinect and BC was all at the introduction of Xbox One. They were still working upward from there, just not competing as well as they liked with PS4. But removing Kinect continued upward gain after that. It was truly the end of Xbox One and this generation where they've seen decline. It's been a very crash and burn situation.

Both Sony and Microsoft are just ruining their rep this generation. Microsoft with subscriptions over hardware, Sony with the focus on Live Service over what made them great.

fr0sty35m ago

Technically, they've lost every generation they've participated in. Only the Xbox 360 brought them close, but they still ended up in last place behind PS3 and Wii by the time it was all said and done.

-Foxtrot19h ago

When? Xbox to Xbox 360?

They’ve been pretty much on a windy slope since the Xbox One reveal but even then s*** started to hit the fan with TV, Sports and Kinect at the end of the 360 days.

Yi-Long3h ago(Edited 3h ago)

I’d argue Xbox completely lost their major advantages over the competition halfway through the 360 era. They came out of the gates, swinging and winning, with 360 being a HUGE success, especially in the West. Then, Nintendo had a hit with Wii & motion-controls, and Microsoft looked at that and said; “Hey, we’d like a piece of that pie as well!”. That’s when they changed course and started shifting towards Kinect. Which obviously was a huge flop.

That decision/change in direction pretty much was the exact same moment when Sony course-corrected their many errors with the PS3, so suddenly Sony made a bunch of good decisions to take advantage of Xbox dropping the ball. Lower console-price, free online MP, and PS+ which was offering 6 (or more) ‘free games’ each month.

By the time that generation ended, PS3 had won back a huge amount of gamers, plus they had the momentum.

Then, obviously, XBO was announced, and I think we all know how that went. They never recovered, and they keep making just absolutely terrible decisions.

Yapps8815h ago

Sony fanboys won’t like this, not one bit

They wanted her to shut Xbox down 😂

Eonjay36m ago

I think by now people should understand that no one hates Xbox more than Microsoft.

What an Xbox founder thinks of the new Xbox CEO | Seamus Blackley interview

Gamesbeat caught up with Blackley to extract some wisdom about Microsoft’s journey in games, what he thinks Sharma should do, and where gaming can go next. Part of his message is hopeful, but Blackley sees a lot of peril on the road that Microsoft is following. And it makes him worry about the future of gaming.

"I expect that the new CEO, Asha Sharma, her job is going to be as a palliative care doctor who slides Xbox gently into the night."

LOL

Anyway, let's wait and see maybe Mia Khalifa will surprise us.

rlow11d 18h ago

I’m on the fence about her. I’ll give her chance, but if she is there to finish things off. Well what can you do.

Abnor_Mal1d 15h ago (Edited 1d 15h ago )

After seeing the article of the possible sunsetting of Xbox as said by Seamus Blackley I believe, I went onto X because of a post I saw. It was a gif of Vegeta powering up, the poster commented as Vegeta yelling “Don’t take my fiercest competitor away from me.” Standing there in his blue Sayian/Freiza corps outfit. So it got me to thinking, so let me ask a question to N4G.

If Vegeta is PlayStation, who would Xbox and Nintendo be in the Dragon Ball universe?

Who would be Master Roshi?

I have my own opinion of course, I just want to see what others think.
