Ever since Valve and HTC announced their collaboration earlier this year on the HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD), virtual reality (VR) fans have been eager to get their hands on the device. HTC then claimed an small initial release would be happening towards the end of 2015, but as the year draws to an end that was looking less and less likely. And the company were keeping fairly tight lipped on any further information. Today HTC has released a statement announcing a commercial release and the availability of more developer kits.

Viveport, the VR retail platform from HTC is now giving developers 90% of their game revenue, instead of a 70/30 spilt like Steam.
It could be free and it wouldn't matter at this point. There isn't really a PCVR Market and I say that as a PCVR user. It is modders and enthusiasts with a few retail products on Steam.

Are you planning a Halloween Party this year? How about those friends and family that live far away? Vive has a plan for you.
I'm pretty sure everyone is going to the VR chat Halloween Party already.

Morels: Homestead, a relaxing game in which you can create your own unique homestead, is available now for PC VR.
FINALLY! A VR device has a release month!
Finally!!!!!! I don't even mind the extended wait now that there is a firm(ish) release date. Plus lots of time for insiders to review it before full release.
Never even heard of this.
Its pretty exciting except it looks as if the Vive pretty much requires you to get a dedicated VR considering I often see it being used with people moving around a defined space. Seems like that is a hurdle very few people would want to overcome
So many things in April Jesus
