Still wonder why Hennig left Naughty Dog.

Bugs me aswell.

With how much she loves Uncharted and the fact she was one of the main ones (being creative director) which helped create Uncharted it was more or less her "baby". I find it highly unlikely she would wake up one day during 8 months of development of Uncharted 4 and go "F*** it...I quit, I want to do something else"

I really would like to find out after Uncharted 4 releases her version of Uncharted 4 and what they changed. Todd Stashwick in that first trailer sounded awesome and gave Sam a much darker feel like he was the main villain. Would have been awesome to see Nate, Sully and Elena go up against someone so close to Nate...and have the three on one last ride together.

C'mon...which do you think is a more high profile title? Uncharted or Star Wars?

Pretty sure it was all about career advancement and having not only Uncharted under your belt but now Star Wars pretty much cements her status for anywhere she might go in the future.

@gangsta_red

I don't think she knew she would end up doing Star Wars when she left

The way I've seen it through reports is that she left and THEN got a job somewhere else.

She never left ND because EA dangled Star Wars in front of her. She wouldn't just throw ND under the bus and leave U4 with development troubles for someone like EA, she has a lot of friends at ND.

gangsta_red3809d ago

@Fox
I'm sure she was in talks with EA and knew well before hand what she would be working on.

I doubt she would just leave ND plus a title like Uncharted and hope for the best elsewhere.

"She wouldn't just throw ND under the bus and leave U4 with development troubles for someone like EA, she has a lot of friends at ND."

Why? What even remotely makes you think this? And how does that throw ND under the bus? She may also have friends at EA.

Friends or not she has her own career to look out for and maybe this move was the best thing for her. It obviously was because now she's on one of the most iconic, most recognized brands on this planet.

People leave studios all the time for bigger and better opportunities. It could be as simple as that.

She wasn't the only one leaving Naughty Dog.... a few people left.

Though Uncharted 3 is a good game as stand alone game, it failed Uncharted series.
I thought she might try to do something to Uncharted 4, ND fired her a** to save the franchise.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee63d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
