While Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 expands with its biggest Zombies mode yet and a raft of rewards for veteran players, it's also slimming down to fit the limitations of older consoles. Fans were, unsurprisingly, pretty miffed when they learned the last-gen versions of Black Ops 3 would drop the campaign, but in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine campaign director Jason Blundell explains it was better to omit the story mode entirely than offer a paired down version.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has established Dark Outlaw Games, a new studio led by Jason Blundell, the producer on Call of Duty: Black Ops, Campaign design director for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, game director for the Campaign and Zombies modes of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and director and producer for the Career and Zombies modes in Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII.
Sony took in allot of the defunct Deviation Studios employees including Jason Blundell and other ex Cod guys and created a new First party game. Not sure if they're working on something completely new or whatever project they were making in Deviation Studios.
Let's just hope development goes smooth and well and they turn out something. It's hard to say in this day and age though.
Could revitalise so many dormant franchises, SOCOM, Killzone, resistance, MAG, etc, fingers crossed they do.
I don't mind live service, if dome right like Helldivers 2 but would much rather have something like Resistance, with a full fledged campaign and then a good multiplayer, I guy can dream 😂

The best selling Call of Duty game proves how the Zombies game mode has become a crucial part of the franchise.
Actually for me , Black Ops 3 has one of the best Call of Duty campaigns I ever played. Not the original campaign. The Zombies campaign that unlocked after beating the original campaign. So much more fun running from zombies rather than the peek a boo hide behind a rock play style. .

The game catalog on Microsoft's premium subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, might finally be welcoming older Call of Duty titles.
Fair enough. It's time to move on.
"director Jason Blundell explains it was better to omit the story mode entirely than offer a paired down version."
The thing is, it's completley paired down and missing alot of features.
looks worse than the wii port of black ops 1 and plays at 30fps all signs point to that this version should not have existed.
I don't see a point in complaining about this. There is a lower version out for a weaker console. It doesn't effect me since it isn't the console I'm buying it for. Let the kid who doesn't have the money to buy a PS4 make the choice if this should or shouldn't exist because some kids just want to play new COD Multiplayer. That kid doesn't care about FPS, what graphics look better... he is looking to enjoy what he can afford.
Didn't THQ pull off custom everything with one of the Saints Row games I think SR3??? or was it SR2?? but you had custom cars and guns and co-op online story. Sounds like once again they are being lazy af, capitalizing on the sheer name of the game, because people will complain and still buy not enough people will complain and opt out of buying. I will be getting mine used this year so they don't get a dime from me. I'm tired of this crap.
No worries for me I'm getting the full hd ps4 version :)
