Can't wait to see it on consoles!

Imp0ssibl33868d ago

I'll play on PC, but I'm also waiting for June as I can't stand Early Access games.

Alexious3868d ago

I agree with you on this. Polish is very important to me.

APexGamer453868d ago

If anything trust MS engineers, they already put this rumor away by stating DX12 is giving "what console has to PC".

X1 has some great games coming. Focus on that instead of some secret sauce dream that has been chased around.

It already has same low level of API of DX12, it already has draw calls, and it only has 2 Async Engines so it cant really utilize Async Compute. Not to mention small GPU really do not have any room to use to begin with.

GenuineGamer3868d ago

Give it a rest with the secret sauce downplaying already jeez it is what it is dx12 is better than dx11 get over it

frostypants3868d ago (Edited 3868d ago )

DX12 won't unlock much on the Xbox One, as both the One's and PS4's development APIs already offered devs a lot of the performance-adding functionality that DX12 is bringing to PCs. This issue has been laid to rest many times now.

It MAY however encourage devs to actually take advantage of GPU capabilities like asynchronous processing more often on the consoles. Both the One and the PS4 have GPUs with asynchronous compute engines (2 for the One, 8 for the PS4). Devs may not be leveraging them efficiently, though, especially if the game in question is a cross platform game that was built on DX11 on PC. When they port that to the One, they're often gonna try to minimize any further development, including taking advantage of the (formerly) superior API capabilities.

There's a reason why Infamous: Second Son looks so much better than many other PS4 games...it actually takes advantage of the asynchronous architecture.

EDIT: You can butthurt-disagree all you like, but this isn't a debate. Both consoles were ALREADY capable of much more than we've seen.

SUCKxITxEZ3868d ago

So I'm not arguing performance, but I was just wondering if you knew why multiplatform games sometimes have far better texture filtering than ps4?

SlavisH23868d ago

thanks for the insight console developer frostypants

kraenk123868d ago

That's N4G for you. Loads of people without a clue ignoring the few which actually have one.

Mkai283868d ago

Nice to know, can you tell me what game you are working on? And is it easier to program on XB1 due to DX12?

meche3343868d ago

Consoles should've had nvidia gpu's. There cards have less gpu cores and smashes the amd gpus

Game is so so I've heard but I recommend you guys watch videos of "frankieisonpc1080p" playing this game. Could make a movie of his gaming adventures.

VER1ON3868d ago

Ark already is impressive

vlashyr3868d ago

When you consider that it's an open world game with a ton of fauna (NPC) and fantastic graphics, it's definitely one of the most impressing games out there.

odderz3868d ago

This could give to XB1 the boost it needs against the PS4... Let's hope so!

kaiserfranz3868d ago

It will be interesting to see this game running on Xbox One, it should launch with the Preview program this Winter. If it runs fine there then it'll run even better on PS4.

Immorals3868d ago

Dunno, if it's being programmed on DX12 (which PS4 doesn't support..) for pc and xbox, you can expect a straight up port.

LavaLampGoo3868d ago

Would live to travel across the land on my dinsoaur on a PS4. Heard some greats things from this game and always manages to get Jurassic Park music stuck in my head...

Alexious3868d ago

Yeah, they definitely managed to catch the Jurassic World train. This game has a lot of potential to sell well on consoles, too

Chris_Wray3868d ago

Hmm. Well, it's a fear i've had about DX12 that it could be too complicated to be used properly. A benefit consoles may, finally, have over the PC? Ease to develop for.
Though in reality DX11 is still easy and more than good enough.

vlashyr3868d ago

It's just that it takes more work. DX11 handled some things on its own, now developers need to be more careful than they were, but the results can be great for those who know what to do.
