Over 500 Different Endings For Fallout 3?

Bethesda's Pete Hines speaks with TVG about the upcoming Fallout 3. It makes for a quite interesting read, particularly regarding the factors that affect the end game, where Hines shares with us that they are nudging past 500 different variations you could experience in the 20-100 hours of gamplay. "(The) number of variations is over 500, but that's of all the different permutations you can have of each different variable and what you did at each point. I don't know how many of those there are (I haven't gone back to look), but it takes into account any number of things you've done from early in the game, right up to when the game ends - it takes into account all of that stuff," says Hines.

But BS! really 500 endings, and this can fit on a DVD?

games4fun6491d ago

this is not the Rpg i am looking forward too unless I read some fantastic reviews, then i'll rent it and see how it is. I just cant play an Rpg that involves aiming guns, its always not accurate or i'm headshoting a guy and wondering why he isnt dead then it explains i only have a level 1 sniper rifle and need to get a level 5 sniper rifle or something along those lines. I may buy it later but my money needs to be saved for LBP and R2. I'll get my rpg fix from WKC.

For some reason i dont mind an rpg telling me my sword needs to be better but telling me my gun does?

ThatCanadianGuy6491d ago

Seriously! sounds pretty BS..

I can see like maybe 20-30.. but 500? i doubt it.

mepsipax6491d ago

I don't care if it has 500 different endings, unless they all have quality put in them and aren't extremely easy to get to, please Bethesdsa make this good, all you do is throw numbers at my, "10 times more dialogue than fallout" "100's of different weapons" "kilometers and kilometers of land" I don't care, stop hyping these technical aspects and tell me how the game is going to feel.

RealityCheck6490d ago

I agree, I would take one or two great endings with great cinematics and with great character and story involvement over several hundreds shallow endings with generic dialog and generic animation.

XxZxX6491d ago (Edited 6491d ago )

it is possible.. back in the old day, they can have lot of ending, simply LAME TEXT ENDING.

CONGRATULATION YOU SAVE THE PRESIDENT. YOU'RE THE MAN!!! GAME OVER

CONGRATULATION YOU OVERTHROWN THE PRESIDENT. YOU'RE THE PRESIDENT!!! GAME OVER

CONGRATULATION YOU DIDN'T SAVE THE PRESIDENT AND NOBODY CARE EITHER. LIFE GOES ON!!! GAME OVER

ALL YOUR BASE BELONG TO US!!! GAME OVER

pwnsause6491d ago

Chrono trigger had over 10, and that game was one of the greatest game ever made.

slave2Dcontroller6491d ago

a WHOLE Dollar Bill to the first person to get ALL 500 endings.

Gangsta Krizzab6491d ago

He'll probably be dead by brain suffocation for wasting time on possibly short 500 endings or have a stroke after the 500th one.

Would be nice if they had New Vegas ready as well, especially because of the show.

Hopefully this doesn't have the same performance issues as Oblivion Remastered.

cloganart125d ago

I haven't seen anything on these performance issues? What's been going on?

walken7125d ago

Probably the Unreal Engine issues, I skipped it for that reason.

Snookies12126d ago (Edited 126d ago )

Throw in all the DLC as well, like Oblivion and I'll definitely bite. I recall having one trophy left to unlock on the PS3 version with 100+ hours in my save. When my save file got corrupted, lol. Very sad day.

To be fair though, Bethesda was trash at Playstation ports anyway.

Michiel1989125d ago

all devs sucked at porting to ps3 for the first like 3 years because no one had experience with the cell architecture. Even 1st party took a long while to get proficient with it, the difference between uncharted 1 and 3 is massive for example.

Extermin8or3_125d ago

Oh oh oh I can do this too. GTA 7 will be made at some point in the future. Fallout 5 will enter development in the future too

jznrpg125d ago

Everyone there should know most gamers want New Vegas and Morrowind more than anything.

Christopher125d ago

Which is why we won't get them. Gotta keep floating "support this one and it might happen".

BlaqMagiq1125d ago

Can't wait. Won't have to go back to my PS3 to play this when it comes out.

Fallout 3 remastered on the Nintendo Switch 2 is what we deserve, not the worst Fallout game

Fallout Day's disappointing news that Fallout 4 is coming to Switch 2 is a shame, as this 17-year-old entry is more deserving of a new port.

Why exactly do you think you deserve it??

Phoenix76197d ago

Fallout 4 isn't the worst game in the franchise. It's either Fallout 76 or Fallout BOS that's the worst.

gigoran8197d ago

PC and all other modern consoles never got a remaster of 3, but obviously the switch 2 was the tipping point to make it a reality... ahuh

1nsomniac197d ago

Meh, I thought 3 was garbage. I'm not a great fan of the franchise to be fair. They're like B-Movie films, really shallow and janky. 4 was definitely one of the better ones though.

UltimateOwnage197d ago

So the article makes a snippy entitled statement and acts like that is going to encourage a publisher to give them what they want. Okay.

Give us FO3 with all the dlc remastered like ESO. Load times faster, quality of life improvements, gun play improvements

I believe it shouldn't just be graphical they should make improvements where they can to make the game better. A simple face lift isn't what's needed

ZeekQuattro385d ago

Still my favorite one. I remember getting a digital copy of FO3 when I got FO4(XBO). It was nice to finally play a stable version of the game. Then when I got a Series S it was an even better expierence. Quick resume and FPS boost made it feel like a whole new game. Updated gunplay would be very welcome though. One of the few things FO4 did better.
