I've been VERY vocal in my dislike of this game, but Id like to go on record about the story. Buried in this games flawed delivery is a game that speaks of endings and in a way it rings true, especially if you see what Batman "becomes" (in the true ending).
So there is a morose atmosphere throughout the game, and it suits it just fine and in contrast Origins, believe it or not, is actually energetic and full of life and makes an excellent counter point to this entry.

Im not saying its perfect, because its not, this is strictly speaking on story and by story I mean Batman's story not that Red Hood re-telling. Which in it of itself would not have been a bad thing, except Rocksteady promised a NEW villain, not a spin on an old story.

Either way, I just wanted to give Arkham Knight its due, in the story department.

Well I fricking loved it. I thought it was the best in the series. The story was the darkest in the trilogy, acting was superb, the graphics (on PS4 at least) were mind blowing, the free flow combat and predator sections were the best they've ever been and while there was a lot of batmobile, I still thought it was fun to use.

Sure does! Those batmobile sections sucked ass.

It left the lasting impression that Rocksteady is out of ideas for more Batman, but they had some technical and presentational wonders within AK that made me think "OMG, make up your own story-driven sci-fi action game already" I know you have to seperate narrative from cinematography and spectacle, but mmmmm, there were some really nice neon-esque colors with excellent lighting effects, in particular aboard that blimp that made me feel like I was playing Batman meets Mass Effect.

I want more of that "Mass Effect"-y feel, and I would be very excited if Rocksteady announced a new IP next rather than another superhero game.

Wouldn't say it's a bad game, nor is it a good game. It's a average game, but very forgettable.

The batman reports started last year. Not sure why it's out of nowhere again

I’m more gutted by the tidbit that a Flash game by WB Montreal was axed after the movie bombed. Who cares about Hollywood? The last Indiana Jones movie wasn’t a hit either, didn’t stop the Great Circle from releasing.

Will be hard for me at first. Been a Kevin Conroy fan since I was a kid. And so use to his performances. Still sad he’s gone. Missed opportunity for a 4 game some years ago. I wouldn’t mind a PS5/Pro upgrade to the older titles. One day on some anniversary or something. Heck the PS6 pro will probably be out by then at this rate. 🤣

Damn, i had really high hoped for Wonder Woman after the Middle Earth games. Doesn't sound like it's coming along well at all. So many devs floundering nowadays. Shadow of War was over 7 years ago at this point!
