Does Batman: Arkham Knight Leave a Lasting Impression?

As a massive fan of the Dark Knight and his multiple adventures through the alleyways and rooftops of Gotham City, my anticipation for Batman: Arkham Knight was at its peak. After unraveling the mystery behind the identity of the mysterious Arkham Knight and saving Gotham from certain doom, I was left slightly dissatisfied with the conclusion of the tale. I immediately pondered, for those fans who are accustomed to the lore of the Caped Crusader, is this game a satisfying Batman story at its core? Does Rocksteady’s finale to the Arkham series leave a lasting and ultimately satisfying impression?

It left a lasting impression of no longer blind buying Rocksteady games for me.

I loved this game, the best of the series, but I can understand if people prefer other Batman because the Batmobile section.

To be honest, I think that people focus to much on the "negative" aspects.

I mean, provided that the batmobile parts sucks the rest of the game is pretty amazing.

It didnt for me... All those FORCED batmobile missions totally makes me think I bought World of tanks - BATMAN EDITION!

More like "Be the BATMAN-MOBILE!"

outsider16243940d ago

me too! Loved the boss battles!

hades073940d ago

100% agree. The boss battles were a joke in Arkham Knight, yet they were awesome in Origins. That boss battle after completing the milita missions I thought was going to be great but it was such a let down and another "bat-tank" battle.

Also disappointed with the lack of challenge maps. They were a fun part and like a game itself trying a stage over and over to beat yours and friends scores.

What you said about AK is really making me sad
I will try it after the patch and see for my self

but i agree with you on Origins
Some of the best epic boss battles i have seen in game

since God of war 3/ascension.

kevnb3940d ago

The pc version sure did.

I enjoyed the game but I don't have a reason to play it again. I'm so glad I didn't get the season pass.

Report: Rocksteady Working on New Single-Player Batman Game; Wonder Woman Rebooted and "Years Away"

Rocksteady is said to be developing a new single-player Batman game, while Monolith's Wonder Woman game has been rebooted.

Man I hope this is true. Arkham Knight was so much fun and a great Platinum to get. Just give us MORE Batman. It's what most of us want. None of this multiplayer shit

darthv72458d ago

Maybe during this time they can also address a performance patch for the existing games... cause you know this new one will likely have quality and performance modes. so why not the previous ones as well.

New SP Batman game 🥹 PLEASE BE TRUE

JL2930458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

Arkham Knight was trash. Worst game in the trilogy, not even as good as Origins.

neutralgamer1992458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

Rumor has it that the Next batman game will be a Playstation exclusive Sony is funding it

lukasmain458d ago

I hope this is true. It means it will be of a higher quality and no microtransactions in the single player game. They can also get back-up support from Sony if and when they need it.

sweatyrich457d ago

Playstation and PC then ;-)

RaidenBlack458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

Hope the WW reboot's a move towards right direction and came after lessons learned from Suicide Squad's failure.
I have respect for Monolith since the 90s. Don't want them to eff up as well.

xHeavYx458d ago

I actually got to play test the game last year and it was dull and boring. Similar style to GOW 3 (less violent of course) but really repetitive.

RaidenBlack458d ago

God Of War 3? Gears of War 3(doubt)?
If the former, then fixed camera angle?
And how'd you get chance to play test?

xHeavYx458d ago

I always though that Gears of War was GeoW, but I meant God of War.
I live pretty close to a WB Games subsidiary, every now and then they ask for random people to playtest beta versions of some games.

RaidenBlack458d ago

Can you describe it, then?
The format, the combat, the visual tone ... whatever?

-Foxtrot458d ago

I hope Arkham is getting a refresh because Sucicide Squad kind of ruined that Universe and I kind of hate how everyone knows who Batman is after Arkham Knight. Kevin Conroy has also passed away sadly.

Either an Arkham reboot or let them create a new Universe which incorporates the Justice League at the start so they can do something with them in the far future.

I'd love a Universe similar to the Batman / Justice League Animated Series.

goken458d ago

Agreed. Also for a while there Rocksteady seemed like they would sooner make a batdog game rather than a new batman game

Just please stay away from Unreal engine

Tacoboto458d ago

All modern Rocksteady games from Asylum and on have been UE

RaidenBlack458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

Monolith has their proprietary Engine : Litchtech. Latest version: Firebird.
The versions prior to Firebird were all available for 3rd party licensing since the 90s and were quiet popular. Notable games/series using Litchtech: Blood 2, AVP 2, NOLF, F.E.A.R, Matrix Online, Crossfire, Mordor etc...
Only studio at WB not using UE (atleast not converted yet)

FortWaba458d ago

Pray, what is the issue with UE5?
