It was when I was 150-starring Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions (again) on PS Vita, that it hit me. There were several occasions when my performance was either astonishingly good (smug face), or 'out-in-5-seconds' bad and, in both situations, I reached for the Share button, only to feel smooth Vita shell instead. It was at that moment I realised the button's impact. For anyone moaning that this generation offers nothing new over the old one, I hold the Share button rudely close to their face. This is the difference. This is what the generation will be remembered for.
The PS4's DualShock 4 controller now has two more buttons with the addition of the Back Button Attachment. The $30 accessory is the perfect complement to the original controller and adds two buttons. The design is a little bulky, but it's still a great accessory for the price.
This thing is getting stellar reviews. What would be it's best use (I am not a competative online gamer).
I'm planning to get one, as I said from the beginning it will be great for them I play shooting games and have to aim and hold my breath at the same time using the right stick for both. Same for running with the left stick and then having to press and hold the same stick to sprint. I'm always in fear that the stick will snap when I do so. Plus for the price of thirty dollars I'd that is still the retail price o the U.S. then it's not a steep price to pay for added comfort and continued longevity of the conteoller.
For me it will be using them as the L1 and R1 buttons. This will eliminate the index finger movement, going from L2 and R2.
We're apparently getting a whole bunch of them at work, so likely I'll be able to snag one to bring home. Sometimes my job has nice perks.:)
PS5 controllers will have this built in. It will allow ps4 controllers to have the same functionality and work with the PS5.

Contrary to the article tho, the biggest advantages of the ms elite controller and the paddle buttons but the ability to control the expo curves of the sticks (response time) and store a second profile to a button position so you can be snappy for FPS games and slower for racing type games or whatever at the flick of a switch. You can also adjust the throw length of the triggers on the Elite. So doesn’t really put them on the same page but still - seems like a great ds4 add-on.
Very true!But people that are saying contrary and putting this in the same level has having a Pro Controller most likely never player with a Pro Controller like the Elite or the Astro!

I think that was on purpose. The usage of the same adjective twice gives the sentence a tone that cannot be achieved by using different ones. It gives the word more focus and is also very often used in this case.

Believe me folks, this a tremendous upgrade at a great price. The incredible men and women who created this attachment, let me tell you folks, these people are incredible. It's going to HUGE I tell you, YUGE.
The DualShock 4's new accessory works well, and hopefully sets the stage for things to come.
I really wish they released this sooner. Seems cool. But it's really late in the PS4's life
But didn't everyone say the buttons on the back of the Elite controller weren't needed?

No, everyone didn't say that. I might have, but then I won't be getting this upgrade either. I'm fine with the existing setup. But I won't knock people who prefer it.
I'm just worried about the battery life.. I wish it came with built in battery to help enhance controller's battery life
There are people with long backlogs only halfway thru PS3. PlayStation as a brand is simply a legacy platform now that stretches beyond just the consoles. This attachment will probably bleed into next gen anyway.
This is to extend the functionality of the DS4 to work with the PS5. And it is likely the DS5 will have something like this built in. At least you will already have a controller to use as a 2nd player (unless the PS5 comes with 2). It is making the controller forward compatible.
That's a way for them to test the market, and get some feedback before they finalize DS5 design
I don't see the point of this. Maybe it's useful for some people but for me, there is no point.
I like using pedals instead of LS and RS which I've always found awkward. But yeah....to each their own.
Or street fighter.. I always hated using special attack with L1 always found it awkward cause it's located same side as the dpad.
The other cool thing, still in fighting games is I can have light medium high punches kicks at once!!!!!!!!
It's great for Souls/Bloodborne games since you can run and roll without removing your right thumb from the analog stick.
My guess is you can use ps4 controllers on ps5 and this will match up with ps5 controller.
If go a step further and say if this attachment is successful which it looks like it will be, it's hard to believe it won't be integrated natively into the PS5 controller
Because you play games than must be on mobile devices too. How 2 more well placed customizable buttons can't be useful ?
Because the DS4 is just perfect as it is. However, some guys have brought up some good points that I didn't think of so how knows?
It'd be fine for me if they added extra buttons, but it just remaps existing ones, so I don't really care for it.
I keep thinking how I'd map the options button to the right one and people don't seem to like that idea. I just never liked where the options button is on the controller. I could see the other one being great for L3. I'm going to get at least one

If the PS5 pad only has 2 back buttons then I'm staying with third party again.
Looking to add an extra ps4 controller to your set up, eBay is blowing them out at just $40. And you even have a few color options to choose from too.
Hmmm I'd have thought share play would have been more defining, or streaming xbox to pc maybe?? I guess shareplay is only good if you have someone to play share play with and not everyone has a pc to stream to. Share button is cool though! Perfect for when I beat bosses in bloodborne. Spammed my friends fb pages with my victories xD
