Yeah but they actually made KI too. Odd they'd screw up Batman. They're usually awesome at ports.

We will probably never find out the whole story, but I'd bet they were put under a lot of time pressure to do the Batman port.

Good at ports!!,they ported Batman Origins,and that was a trainreck,had a lot of game breaking bugs, even till this day most of them aren't fixed

Console ports.....The are not PC developers and really don't have a whole lot of experience with PC...Every good port they have done have all been on consoles

It seems pretty obvious to me that WB chose to ship the game BEFORE IG was finished working on it. This is clearly the publishers fault...

No way MS makes the same mistake... Not after MCC...

Why them? The only game that I wanted to get Xbox One for is finally being ported to PC and it's being ported by same guys who ported atrocity called Batman Arkham Knight on PC. Great

They only had two months to port the game and with the manpower of twelve people. If you're going to blame anybody than it's Warner Bros. for their incompetence. They should have delayed the PC port instead of pushing it out the door

In any case you obviously don't even realize that Iron Galaxy is primarily a fighting game studio. They've been in charge of KI since Double Helix got bought out by Amazon, developed DarkStalkers Resurrection, assisted on Divekick, ported both the original MvC and SF III: 3rd Strike to PSN/XBLIVE

Well, IG did agree to port the game in a couple of months. Knowing good and well they wasn't going to make a proper port in 2 months. So they are just as much to blame as WB.

I'm inclined to agree. For all we know Iron Galaxy might be a exceptionally talented studio that did a far better job in two months than many would have done with twice the time.

If you are brought in to port a PC game you don't turn down work just because the time frame is unreasonable (unless the publisher actually expects a working product). After all, your client is the publisher, not the consumer.

My guess is that WB didn't care about the state of the port come launch day because they could always fix it later... guess Steam's refund policy sort of dashed that splendid plan.

Iron Galaxy are the devs on KI XBox, season 2 is pretty much their game. They took over when Amazon bought double helix, and IG have done a really good job with it.

Hopefully the pc version will be up to standard, but we'll see.

So same hardware as PC, potentially going to be rocking the same OS more or less (Win 10)... but yet it needs to be handed to a company who clearly has a hard time with a single player experience?

yeah they were such good and fun games but they never really reached the mainstream audience. Killer Instinct was widely known and respected.

Killer instinct is great, especially on snes but it’s not the most underrated fighter.. for me it’s Power Stone. So much potential in this series

Bloody Roar was a game that had a sick concept but wasn’t made the best. I’d say Killer Instinct was the opposite of that, it was well made but the roster of characters were so similar to every other fighting game in that era that it ended up feeling like more of the same. I could be wrong that’s just how I remember it at the time and I played a ton of KI on SNES because it was one of the first games I owned.

I remember trying my hardest to learn that "Ultra... Ultra.... Ultra...." finish. Such a great fighting game.

I can tell you definitely got some SNES time in. The slight differences in the ports due to hardware constraints were interesting. For example, the arcade version was Ultraaaa Coooommboooooooo! versus Ultra….Ultra….Ultra on the SNES.

Though SNES overachieved as a port for as demanding as a game KI was.The arcade version was one of the first cabinets with a dedicated hard drive and the SNES version was 32 megabyte cartridge which was huge for that system at the time.

Yeah, for sure. My local childhood arcade was always packed and it was hard to get a game in but once the SNES version came out, I was hooked. I can still feel the click of the power button.

I love KI (still play the old arcade version) but feel like the Xbox version is like a big intimidating chessboard with no easy way to instruct you to play chess.
The game is so deep in terms of little things to do that it makes Smash Bros melee look like a casual experience.
Honestly, doing a combo Breaker is punish/reward by itself but hey you can add a counterbreaker.

There isn't going to be any chance of this being played at tournaments unless it appears on all platforms like all fighting games.

SF5 didn’t appear on all consoles and was still played at Tournaments. I’ve seen KI tournaments recently so I don’t think your opinion is accurate.
