I think a lot of devs jumping ship for VR exclusive development are setting themselves up for quite a sharp fall. Especially when their games are exclusive to a single VR device. Even if the game is the best ever, if Occulus doesn't take off then that's going to hit these studios very hard.
Seems to me as though it would make sense to spread their risk over multiple VR platforms, and perhaps make their games playable in a traditional first person perspective too.
