I know Remedy is gonna amaze me; those guys make some pretty awesome games! Looking really good!

christocolus3947d ago

Well said. Sam Lake is a genius. The guy knows how to keep players engrossed. Gameplay and story are always top notch. E3 can't come soon enough.

Gazondaily3947d ago

Yeah stylistically, they were always ahead of the curve. Max Payne 1 and 2 were brilliant. So much atmosphere.

This one looks great but it needs more variety. The combat looked decent but I just think it could get a bit tiring (like Alan Wake). The pacing needs to be done right.

Also the tv stuff could be hit and miss. Hopefully its cool.

Automatic793947d ago (Edited 3947d ago )

@Christocolus

Picture the 1 & 2 combo of Quantum break and Alan Wake on Xbox One that will easily fill the Story based gaming for Xbox one this generation. Here's hoping that Phil keeps Remedy on board for more projects.

Note Quantum Break easily my most anticipated.

christocolus3947d ago (Edited 3947d ago )

@septic

You right but we've only seen very little and im sure there's so much more to show. Sam lake said there would be a lot more abilities available to jack joyce beyond what was shown at the demo last year.. I think there will be more variety and we will get scenarious where you will have to use certain powers together to solve puzzles and get across certain points and as i said before sam is good at telling really great stories and i hope he is able to craft a unique story for the tv show,an interesting one which will to compliment the game perfectly.

@Mike

Yeah, i bet Phil will keep investing into more of such ips. He has stated his desire to develop more story given games for xbox. We will defintely see more of those games.

Barnaby-Jones3947d ago

I honestly think Alan Wake 2 is gonna be their next game. Really enjoyed the first one. The last level had me tense lol

mcstorm3947d ago

@Barnaby-Jones I hope your right. I think Alan Wake was a different game to what they had planned just because of the power of the 360 and I think what they wanted to do with the 1st game they will be able to do with the 2nd. I loved the 1st game though one of the best games I played last gen imo. Love to see a 2nd.

As for Quantum Break I am really looking forward to this game and I'm also hoping its a start for MS releasing games throughout the year and not just Sept to Dec.

Gazondaily3947d ago

@chris

"You right but we've only seen very little and im sure there's so much more to show. Sam lake said there would be a lot more abilities available to jack joyce beyond what was shown at the demo last year.."

Yeah definitely. Its early days and I know they'll throw in some surprises. I do hope they take some risks with the narrative.

dancerOfDeath3947d ago

I'm excited too. Linear action/adventure isn't really my thing, but I have heard that there are gameplay elements and powers we havent seen yet. Could make thing extremely interesting, keeping a close eye.

comebackkid98913947d ago (Edited 3947d ago )

With the turmoil recently I wish Sam and Remedy the best (:

edit- Can't wait to see multiple playable characters (especially villain)

Completely agree, can't wait to see this and will be nice to have a AAA exclusive released during the Spring time for a change. Good move moving the game from this Holiday to Spring anyway, might have gotten eaten up by all the big titles out this year and a Remedy game doesn't deserve that.

otherZinc3947d ago

I think they delayed the game to take advantage of Windows 10 & DirectX 12.

ScorpiusX3947d ago (Edited 3947d ago )

So March 2016 cool (Who disagrees with a date that is pretty much in line with the stated date.)

Genuine-User3947d ago (Edited 3947d ago )

This was known months ago.

creeping judas3947d ago

I'm ready, or in the language of Remedy's homeland "olen valmis!"

Rookie_Monster3947d ago (Edited 3947d ago )

Wait, I thought MS only releases AAA games in the Fall?

Great news indeed. I suspect Crackdown to be release next Summer as well as the last 2 games on the series were Summer releases. 2016 should be a great year for Xb1 owners with games coming on all year round.

Edit Biggerboss: my point is so was games like The Orders 1886 and Uncharted 4, Bloodborne. Without delays, the PS4 lineup in the first 1/2 is no better than the XB1 but that didn't stop the masses here from proclaiming MS has no games for the first 8 months of 2015 while praising Sony that they spread out their games all year long, at the expense of a weak Fall lineup, of course . Tell me you haven't heard that before?

BiggerBoss3947d ago (Edited 3947d ago )

"Wait, I thought MS only releases AAA games in the Fall?"

This game was supposed to come out THIS FALL until it was delayed. So I don't really see your point?

zeuanimals3947d ago (Edited 3947d ago )

Doesn't matter if there's delays, the PS4 still put out atleast one exclusive game or console exclusive every month or so last year while there was a 6 month dry spell on the XBO between Titanfall and Forza Horizon 2. The same is happening this year with Ori being the only prominent release, you can count Screamride too but that's really all there is until the fall. The only two worthwhile PS4 exclusives this year, so far, have been Helldivers and Bloodborne so in a way the lineups this year are sort of even, but I'd put Screamride and The Order 1886 on the same level, quality wise while Helldivers is a step above and Bloodborne and Ori are the two major players. And still, the PS4 is supposed to get more exclusives during the summer while we don't exactly know if MS has anything for it, just some wishful thinking.

MS needs to get more releases overall. Supposedly, that's supposed to be what this E3's all about and they probably won't disappoint but I can't say that I haven't been disappointed by the long dry spells so far on both consoles, but moreso on the XBO since it literally lasted half a year, if you don't count multiplats. And the dry spell this year could last half a year too if they don't deliver any surprises for the summer.

Abnor_Mal3947d ago

Damn you really have something against Sony and Playstation. The article is about Quantum Break not about The Order or Uncharted4, why even bring them into the discussion. Keep on topic and dont worry about the other camp. Especially when noone from that camp even uttered a word, negative or otherwise.

While there’s likely already a list behind closed doors, one can still speculate and offer logical suggestions for titles new and old that should find their way into the PlayStation and Switch libraries.

Single A games and live service games. Those make sense

S2Killinit739d ago

None of it makes sense. But its happening.

Ps5conehead739d ago

That’s up to Microsoft they want return on there investment. From buying up those publishers. That’s what there in business for. And they made a mistake putting day one exclusive on game pass. So now Microsoft wants to profit any way they can.its called buisness . Just like Sony putting games on pc a year are two after ps5 launch.
So if they can make money off PlayStation and Nintendo. They will do that. And I bet soon real soon they will release some aaa exclusives .and I bet one day it will be same day release

TheEroica738d ago

Sony gamers begging for Xbox games.... Who would've thunk it?

BISHOP-BRASIL738d ago

Yeah, because random site off the internet represents all Sony gamers, they have the letter of attorney and all...

S2Killinit738d ago

Lol what a spin. You dizzy?

AsunaYuukiTheFlash738d ago (Edited 738d ago )

We don’t care about shovelwares. Get that junk out of PS5

StormSnooper738d ago

More like MS begging to put their games on PlayStation.

TheEroica737d ago

Keep begging Sony gamers!

Friendlygamer739d ago

Some of these seem to be exclusive for lack of enthusiasm of the publisher rather than because of deals. A lot of cool indies skip ps for some reason like katana zero, el paso, elsewhere and gunbrela

S2Killinit739d ago

Even more indies skip xbox. We know that right?

Friendlygamer739d ago

Quality over quantity, Microsoft got some really interesting and curated niche games on their machines, maybe in part because of gamepass

S2Killinit738d ago

Quality and MS are not things you bring up in same sentence.

shinoff2183738d ago (Edited 738d ago )

Alot of indies skip xbox to. It goes round and round. Personally I think your off base on that but no need to have the argument.

Friendlygamer738d ago

Between katana zero, valheim, Battletech, el passo... I don't feel off base. maybe ps got a million of light novel games that will never release on Xbox but like I've said, I'm talking about niche games highlights, the 10%.

Heck, it's probably thanks to Microsoft that the s.t.a.l.k.e.r games came to console ps included, meanwhile Sony backwards compatibility continues to be extremely anemic.

And I'm sure most ps5 users are happy to ignore these games and just play wathever new 3rd person action game is trending but it's cool that Microsoft gives some love to smaller audiences and software preservation

shinoff2183738d ago

Again your off base just to be snide. All it's showing though is your ignorance.

One light novels wtf is that even. Ps has plenty of pretty damn good indies.

Speaking of indies and ms being responsible. You know F.I.S.T. of course you do alot of you guys just support gamepass. Well here's a history of Sony being responsible for helping indies. Look up the China project from Sony.

Lastly lol your ignorance showing again. Sony has plenty of games. Personally third person is better then first anyway but that's besides the point. Sony gets so many games that xbox doesn't get because yall don't support the games. Jrpgs being a great example. I personally am not into every Sony first party game. Alot of us aren't. On the other side you don't get to eat often so you gobble up everything. Me personally God of War not my cup, etc. For me I'm into jrpgs and ms just can't touch Sony on those. Again because the Xbox base doesn't support it. Devs dont wanna waste their time or money. Hit me up when falcom develops a game over there.

Speaking of third person narrative games. Aren't yall drooling over hellblade 2. The first one was Sony exclusive at one point. Another not my cup game. Showing we don't have to fall in line and agree we love everything Sony puts out. The facts are they sell though unlike elsewhere(not nintendo)

StormSnooper738d ago

You are same person as GamerRN, yes?

Abnor_Mal739d ago

They really think PlayStation fans would want to play Redfall? Pfft.

Personally nothing on that list would be any game I’d want to play.

TwoPicklesGood739d ago

I’d absolutely love Hellblade 2, Palworld, and Quantum Break on ps5 as I’m sure tons of others would too. There’s nothing wrong with wanting games from another console and its sad that people try to act like they aren’t interested in them.

shinoff2183738d ago

While indont agree with the games. I agree with the point. Your not wrong.

DarXyde739d ago

Sunset Overdrive makes very good sense. Palworld might.

Don't know about the others. Hellblade II does make sense given the original launched on PS4 first. Quantum Break was a massive letdown for me. I absolutely hated the whole TV show thing and I don't think anyone should have to relive that on modern hardware.

Now that Remedy owns Control, it’s time to reclaim Quantum Break

Alan Wake 2 studio Remedy Entertainment has reclaimed the rights to Control, and now sci-fi hit Quantum Break deserves the same treatment.

Totally agree with that especially when Quantum Break has several references to Alan Wake and Alan Wake make allusions to QB.
I do believe that MS and Remedy can work things out and MS has usually been nice to devs and publishers regarding IP.

Obscure_Observer755d ago

They can't "reclaim" what was never theirs.

Petebloodyonion755d ago

I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP.

Lightning77755d ago

MS is not doin anything with it. Plus they're doing a multiverse of their own so Remedy needs the IP.

If MS wants to have exclusive let it be timed for 6 months then go to other platforms. MS seems to be, let's say, generous with some if their games as of late.

Or have QB2 be multiplat from the jump, put it on GP. Keeping QB2 as an exclusive is kinda weird these days.

Obscure_Observer754d ago (Edited 754d ago )

@Petebloodyonion

"I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP."

Good luck

@Lightning77

"MS is not doin anything with it."

Japan Studio is dead nd Sony isn´t doing anything with Bloodborne either! Yet I can 100% guarantee that there´s a far bigger demand for a sequel, remake or even a remaster for that game from both PS5 and PC gamers.

That been said, why don´t you ask Sony tol sell the IP to Fromsoftware now that according to rumors, they bought Elden Ring from Bandai?

ZwVw755d ago (Edited 755d ago )

Reclaim? That would mean that they actually owned the ip at one point, which they never did (MS always has). Apples & oranges. Remedy always owned the Control ip (just not the publishing), as they have with Alan Wake.

About as likely as them getting the Max Payne rights from Rockstar.

mastershredder755d ago (Edited 755d ago )

Sending you game to a publisher does not mean they get "rights to own it " unless that was part of the contract (monetary/ strategic reasons). 505 was the publisher they worked with to publish and distribute it, it dos not mean that 505 flat out "owned" anything, clearly they did have a special arrangement that made them open to limit their publishing rights. and so here we are and big whoop

Jingsing755d ago (Edited 755d ago )

Yeah get Quantum Break PS5, only if you put it on disc with all the associated movie material.

isarai755d ago

I mean they got the Alan Wake IP back from MS, so I feel like they could get QB back as well
