YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! THIS IS DEFINITIVE PROOFS OF TOP SECRET CROSS-GEN SABOTAGE, THE INDUSTRY IS 'RUINED'!!! *runs along town, crying out loud in public*

mikeslemonade4011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

Not saying it's a bad game. Just saying why are people so pleased about the graphics when clearly it's sub-par.

There's a difference between me saying the game sucks and saying the graphics are sub-par. The apologists will say "well it looks better than Fallout 3". I HOPE IT'S BETTER THAN A 2008 GAME!

I'm getting the game but the problem is you people are too easily pleased. As a consumer I want more and the graphics to meet standards. You are wrong for saying "it's good enough".

yewles14011d ago

"I'm getting the game but the problem is you people are too easily pleased."

<_<... >_>... party pooper. XD

Crimzon4011d ago

For me personally, I'm just happy to see a game showing what it really looks like, rather than faked "in-engine" pre-rendered footage that only leads to inevitable downgrades. It's nice to see the opposite happen and have a game actually look underwhelming, because at least you know you're not being lied to.

Father__Merrin4011d ago

How is it sub par? how many games of this nature has miles better visuals! this will be a huge game world with tons to explore.

IVanSpinal4011d ago

Bloodborne graphics are not impressive also & everybody is pleased

Baka-akaB4011d ago

"There's a difference between me saying the game sucks and saying the graphics are sub-par."

I believe that i've seen you be pleased with games that are inferior and truly subpar graphically from the current gen .

Summons754011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

Stop being an entitled brat. Think you can do better, be my guest start a company and make something that looks better than the Witcher 3...which I'm sure you cried about too.

News flash GRAPHICS AREN'T IMPORTANT. Gamers should worry about getting the best gameplay as possible. Fallout 4 looks great and it's clearly early footage and has room for improvement indeed but as it is it looks great so far. The worst looking part of the trailer was the dog, but I have a feeling that dog is going to be annoying to play with because companions are (most of the time) always annoying in games and in Fallout 3 and Skyrim they were the worst.

Death4011d ago

@Mike,

Pretend for a minute these devs are actually in a business to make money. All development is done within a budget. They need to justify the additional costs to make games prettier. If the investment doesn't increase sales to the degree needed to recoup the costs and make a profit, why should it be done? If the game is fun and people enjoy it, do the graphics have to be bleeding edge nice to justify the cost of the game? Unless you want devs to go the low budget indie route, you may want to rethink the way you approach new games. I don't think as consumers we should settle, but at the same time I think we need to keep our expectations within reason.

Bimkoblerutso4011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

If anything, it's actually kind of liberating to see a premier trailer that doesn't overstate the game's graphical capabilities, especially when it seems like this generation the trend has been to outright misrepresent what a game would eventually look like.

It still looks damn good, all things considered.

trenso14011d ago

Yup the hypocrites are coming out now. When is it is a new IP they all shout and moan about the graphics, "it's amazing", "it sucks", it's good", "it's bad". But now that it is Fallout 4 with clearly sub-par current gen graphics when compared to what else has released, suddenly graphics don't matter anymore and it is all about game play. Hypocrites. Cause in two weeks at E3 all of you saying "the graphics aren't that bad" or "the graphics don't matter" will be calling out game left and right for their graphical fidelity.

KwietStorm_BLM4011d ago

I cannot believe this is even a talking point. It's Fallout. It NEVER has had the best graphics on the market. Neither has GTA. But look at how much they've done with just those two games. The problem is not us. The problem is this insanely entitled new age graphics mentality, as if the developers have a 1337 gfx button they can press to make everything look photorealistic. There is a very concise reason why Fallout does not have graphics that are 5 star quality. But if you want to make the attempt to understand what goes into it, rather than just whine about the surface, then you probably still would ask for more, just because. So it's all moot.

Lightning Mr Bubbles4011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

I thought it looked great. They did change the style a bit.

At the end when you see the guy in the vault suit, he looks a bit exaggerated like a super hero in tights. I think it's meant to showcase the more innocent style of that era, that's the art style they went with to add more atmosphere to the game.

I think there might be more back and fourth in this game, where they show life before the nuclear war and then after. The drastic change between the innocent peaceful life before and the harsh gritty wasteland.

Of course I'm just guessing from what the trailer showed, but maybe that's part of the story or something. In Fallout 3, you don't see much of life before the war, you're just pretty much born in the vault afterwards.

Erik73574011d ago (Edited 4011d ago )

Because the art-style is actually really good for this game and original?

IF other developers weren't so fake with their games and showed raw footage like Bethesda just did then they wouldn't look that good either....aka witcher 3...watchdogs.....none of the games lived up to the trailers.

swice4011d ago

So, what is your reference? What equals par to you?

Vengeance11384011d ago

Are you seriously saying gamers are too easily pleased, with a straight face?? Gamers are the most childlike, cry baby nitpicking group you can have. Look at today, people finally get the game they've been cutting themselves over for years and what's the first thing that happens? They whine over the graphics, which are very much on par and look great. They same will happen with Half Life 3, instead of being happy and thanking their lord and savior Gaben over the reveal, they will turn up their nose and go Mmmmm ya thanks for HL3 buuuuut it doesnt look like i want it too... cry some more why don't you, this gen is so entitled it's sickening.

N2NOther4010d ago

No one is wrong for saying something is "good enough" if they genuinely feel it's good enough for them.

I was NEVER expecting great graphics. I am expecting them to be using that power in the scope of the game, the ambition in the mechanics, behind the scenes stuff we don't think about. I will take "sub-par" graphics over load screens. If they can make it a seamless world where I don't see a load screen for every new area I enter, that's WAY better to me than bleeding edge graphics.

HammadTheBeast4010d ago

My only problem is that Witcher 3 is much better graphically, and I'd expect Fallout 4 to be the same if not better.

JeffGUNZ4010d ago

Your point was made Mike and people still don't get it.

This game will be great, I have faith in Bethesda, but anyone thinking these graphics are anythign other then decent last gen graphics are fooling themselves. When they showed the main character at the end of the trailer, his model/clothing looked like a PS2 game. I mean come on, stand that character model next to Nathan Drake in Uncharted 3 and tell me this is good lol.

The graphics are poor for a next gen/pc only game, it doesn't mean I am less interested in this game, just pointing out the graphics were a let down.

I knew it!

The Illuminati is forcing devs to cross-gen their games.

MoeStedley4010d ago (Edited 4010d ago )

You forgot *strips clothes off*

GreetingsfromCanada4011d ago

Textures are a bit flat but the rest of the game looks fine.

lastdual4011d ago

Even the textures aren't bad.

Play The Witcher 3 and zoom the camera to the equivalent of a 1st-person view. Guess what? The environment textures look a little less sharp when you're right up next to them.

If there were other gigantic, 1st-person RPGs that made the Bethesda games look bad I might understand the criticism. But there aren't.

HammadTheBeast4010d ago

Animations are also a bit off, the dog walking kind of looked like it was floaty.

Antifan4011d ago

There's always something in Bethesda Software games that makes up for it's lack of graphical detail. Maybe we can construct our own fly ship, craft unique variety of weapons, build our own town, and other role-playing sandbox elements.

TheGamingArt4011d ago

It was pretty bad last gen, and it's even worse this gen.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart4011d ago

I am so sick of this being the only thing people care about. They show off this amazing new Fallout world with an amazing art style and hinting at a lot of really awesome new things we will get to do and all people want to do is bitch , bitch and bitch some more about the graphics which look perfectly fine in the first place. Entitled brats.

Death4011d ago

I would rather have a game that is fun than a game that is pretty. In a perfect world we would have games that look perfect and are fun for everyone at the exact length we all want them to be. I haven't found that place yet.

JeffGUNZ4010d ago

See, this is where you are overreacting. I have seen most comments saying the graphics are a let down. That doesn't mean people hate this game now. I will get this game solely on presidence from the previous installments, but the graphics are a disappointment for a next-gen/pc only game. It's an aspect of what we were shown so far. People can't make any comments on gameplay or features as the trailer is all we have at this point. Will this trailer hurt sales, no, not at all, but in realty, the graphics are a let down for a lot of people. I eagerly await details of the most important aspect of a game, the fun factor, coming at E3.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

-Foxtrot197d ago

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder197d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

lukasmain197d ago

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
