Smite PC Progress Will Transfer To Xbox One Version

If you've already dumped tons of time and money into Smite on the PC, you won't have to start from zero if you jump to Xbox One.

In an interview with IGN, Hi-Rez Studios Chief Operating Officer, Todd Harris, said they're working with Microsoft make a one-time "carry over" possible. It's only confirmed for certain regions at the moment, and more details are coming

Good news for Smite players

TekKing4156d ago

I don't see how this news will matter to people that already play Smite on PC. I mean why play a MOBA with worse controls (not that Smite is any good to begin with but playing with a controller is terrible)?

KrisButtar4155d ago

I know MMO's are not MOBA's but I'm going to be looking into this game more now that it has controller support. The reason I picked up FF14 for example is because of controller support other than Xpadder.

I dropped ESO until it comes to consoles for the controller support, I actually quit ESO after a week because I don't find using kb/m for gaming comfy at all unless its a RTS. Its one of the major reasons I moved onto consoles for my main gaming needs all those years ago. I don't find controllers terrible at all.

This is absolutely brilliant news! So pleased about this as I played it for a while (after paying some money into it) but lost interest for other games.

Great to know I haven't totally wasted my money!

Great game and great news for those getting it for the xbox one, wish they would release this on the ps4 aswell, i would buy it on release day for sure :)

Sonital4156d ago

It's F2P dude! No buying required! I really didn't expect this as Hi-Rez have always struck me as moneygrabbers but maybe I was wrong..

Devilbringer4156d ago

Oh i thought they would charge something for the game :o but that is great news then :D Now i really want it on my ps4 :(

Volkama4156d ago (Edited 4156d ago )

Free to play certainly doesn't mean they are not moneygrabbers... All it means that they think they will grab more money with that model than if they charged up front.

Volkama4156d ago

Reveal trailers for the xbox version said it was "first on xbox one" or something like that. I don't think you'll be waiting long.

Personally I hate the click-to-move control scheme on MOBAs but like the premise of them, so the more that hit the consoles the better.

LAWSON724156d ago

This is a 3rd person game not bird eye view click to move like Dota and LoL

il-JumperMT4156d ago

Haha pay to win moba for bads who cannot handle dota2

Blues Cowboy4156d ago

I don't play a huge amount of SMITE, but to me it feels like a fun moba for normal people who can't be bothered with dota 2.

phatprize4156d ago

What a misinformed statement. There is literally NOTHING in smite that is "pay to win". The only things that cost money in Smite are Character Skins, Voice Packs, and Name Changes. Believe it or not, having a different skin for Zeus doesn't make his skills any stronger.

il-JumperMT4155d ago

Do you have all heroes unlocked from start? If No, then its Pay to Win.

Nintendo really needs to step up in their power game next-gen. I know they opted out of the 'power race' back with the Wii, but they really need to still stay within a certain margin of their competitors.
