I thought I was losing it. Everything is working in my house except PSN. I checked the PSN page an hour ago and it was all green checks.
I just checked again, everything is red. Says they're doing maintenance.
It finally came back up but I must say that it's really unacceptable to not be able to play my games when it's down. Also I have gain a new appreciation for physical games. I know digital keeps growing and growing but the thing is you are paging for something you don't have complete control over and that's lame.
It has been over a year since ps+ expired and i only play SP games. I only got 1 month ps+ basic back when i had to do rdr2 online trophies.
I couldn’t care less and shows sp games will always FTW
....and this is why everyone should support more than one platform. Switch has been getting more play time as a result.
Well i am locked out of my digital single player games because offline play wasn't activated and licences can't be verified. And i got no physical games. Gotta remember to activate that when it's back up.
Hopefully it comes back up soon.
I have several PS4 consoles in my house for various purposes, I'm screwed because I have such a large collection and I don't want to have redownload whenever I want to play a game. I want to fire it up, like going to a shelf, pulling a game off the shelf, putting it in the disc drive and off you go that fast. Can't do that with digital and limited HDD space. Installing a disc is faster, you don't have to worry about data caps and internet speeds, and storage space is really expensive. Xbox just allowed a 16TB HDD to be accessed by Xbox, but that 16TB is gonna cost you, even more if it's SSD, if those even exist yet.....
It is still down but if you go to settings -users and accounts- other - restore licenses i managed restore a license to a single player game. Back to replaying GOW Ragnarok.

I have downloaded unicorn overlord, Spiderman 1 And many offline single player but I am getting error to restore license but psn is down in UK.
What a load of bullshit that I can't even play single player games...

I'm playing Fortnite with my cousin right now, but it's the only game with servers up, the rest is working, library, store, downloads, it's just the online, which sucks, cause I wanted to play Helldivers and Phasmophobia
Saturday midday for me so no biggie Friday night would be annoying

I just tried, and it woke the console up out of sleep mode just fine, but it's stuck in a neverending attempt to actually connect. I've had my Portal for a bit over a month now and have absolutely loved it... but I just found my biggest dislike of this thing.

Yea weird, my Portal wouldn't connect until I actually restarted the Portal. It's working fine now! 🔥
No it still needs to use you PlayStation account authentication to connect the two systems. Both ends need to be able to talk to PlayStation authentication servers to verify your identity prior to connection. It's a good thing I guess as you wouldn't want a unauthorised connection to your console
There's a alternative remote play app on the app store that allows it but it's not going to help you with the portal right now
Im able to connect using my PS Portal but all my games have the "License cannot be verified...." error.
And here I just dusted off my PS4 the past week after not touching it for over 3 years and now I can't even play an offline visual novel (World End Syndrome), lol
Same here! I went to Twitter to check up on progress for WEP and apparently it's on the backburner for the moment while the production team works on a spin-off that takes place in the same universe as WES. I did get the platinum trophy though. Now I'm working on Steins;Gate Elite which I should have gone through years ago because the anime adaptation is what got me into anime to begin with, lol.

Verizon had outages across the US yesterday. Probably still do bit it didn't effect me. Wonder if this is related or just a coincidence.
I can see people in my friend list playing, its not everyone just like other times. I don't mind I got other things I can do in this world we call life. It's funny on Twitter cause they all use the same excuse "oh just got off work and just wanna play". Also I like free stuff compensation would be great, I prepared for it to go down so I can get more out of it compensation
Just checked and it seems Xbox is also down, is this ddos? Downdetector has quite a few people posting about both platforms and also for Verizon as well

Ain't talking that long, 24hrs is the limit. 24hrs should be that compensation time. 3 weeks I'm strong enough to handle it but its not worth it at 3 months bruh. 24hrs
@exterminator it was easier to stomach back then sure but at least there's still disc based games and games you have on your system will still load just fine unlike Xbox there's no check in to validate licences it just plays locally if it's not expired

Still down for me. Hope they get it figured out, my friends and I have been down since christmas eve evening, with maybe 30 minutes of up time here and there.

It was fine earlier today, I played a couple of hours of GTA Online before going out, but I got home around 2 hours ago and it's down again. Wtf?
Haven't been able to sign in to PSN for the past two days. Yesterday I got a message saying it was under maintenance not even the PS app works.
Xbox Live services are limited but its core service is up and running there really shouldn't be an excuse as to why PSN is offline when it's a paid service. ;)
