Been down for me since Wednesday. Not acceptable for a paid service

still down in my area. this is beyond acceptable considering it was just a DDoS attack.

Just lame, theres no excuse, i cant connect and i wanted to get some items from Xur, god damn Sony !

You'd have thought after all the experience Sony have had in dealing with hackers and deviants that they'd be a little better prepared in handling DDOS attacks. Now I understand that there isn't much they could do to prevent from being taken offline but the length of the downtime is unacceptable. Anyhow, fingers crossed they get their act together soon.

Psn work for like an hour then back offline. No roughing up the noobs this years :(

I can download console and games updates fine. Signing to PSN and all that good stuff still unavailable.

Just attempted to log int o my PSN...it is down :( but my XBL and Wii U Online is up though. Don't know why is it taking Sony so long to fix their network.

I've been enjoying single player games like i did all my life.

I played Assassin creed unity for trophies. I collected all of the chests for trophy, but I didn't get it. Playstation network and uplay are down, so I am screwed or what?

I love how the drones are blaming Sony for something you can't stop. You have as much success of trying to stop a DDoS attack as you would an actual hack. Unless you can ACTUALLY see it coming there's no way in hell you're stopping it. So it's taking longer. How about you play games that are single player, because you know they're still being made?

PSN=Pretty Shitty Network. Xbox experiences the same attacks and handles them better. They have the better network infrastructure. I own all of the next gen consoles. PSN is down for days after DDOS attacks everytime. Microsoft fixes it within a few hours while keeping their core functions available in the meantime. As for my WiiU lizard squad and anonymous leave Nintendo alone for obvious reasons. Smaller user base and whatnot. So no matter what I still get to game. Suck it nerds 😊

My psn has been down since christmas morning and tho i can login i cant do any online.

I have a last of us digital code that is useless right now. Been wanting to play the last of us since xmas but thats been impossible

Aww that's a real shame I have been playing extra for the fallen sony gamers.

I wonder what Holiday specials will Sony feature on the PSN next year? Seeing how Sony have proven to be utterly defenseless against these attacks they might as well not bother. Just preemptively shut down the nextwork for "maintenance" and save yourself the shame.

I think they brought it back online to test it out and then took it back offline to fix whatever remaining problems they have. If it was the ps3 I honestly wouldn't mind the wait but since I have a ps4 and paying for service.. they kinda need to hurry up

I has a little ray of hope playing online today...played for about 30min this morning...then I had to turn off my ps4 to hook up my new tv...then it says I timed out...such a cruel sick cosmic joke :( lol

But really it's time to get this up and running cause I'm sure I won't be compensated for not being able to play ffxiv and my sub is just wasting away

so it's FINALLY back up for me

I expect compensation, seeing how PS Plus is required and it fucked up ... again

I hope everything gets sorted out but seriously, people are acting as if single player games don't exist.

I can't imagine how sad the children are that waited all year to get a PS4 for Xmas and STILL can't play it. And I'm still really annoyed that Resogun Vita was released Tuesday and is still completely unplayable.

PS3 isn't connecting to PSN Store. I'm pretty pissed I can't shop. We should get some kind of compensation for this. What's our PS+ going toward if not online experience?

Microsoft and apple are the top Dawgs. Sony makes good hardware but can't react to these type of hacking situations in a timely manner. I truly Feel bad for all the eX Box1 owners who jumped ship and went the route of the PS$ hype machine. Oh well.... Back to Destiny online.

It's been down since the start of the shortage for me on the coast of Oregon, came back up for like two minutes earlier then just went right back down. I can't even sign into the PSN website without getting told PSN is undergoing maintenance. This better not be another month long shortage.

I know this is slightly off topic, but one of the reasons we are all personally sufferig so many hacks is because governments resist the introduction of proper encryption techniques for the average Joe! They claims they need to protect us from ourselves by monitoring are connections, but in actuality, they put us at greater risk everyday. On topic. These individuals will get caught, because like all such people with no real skills they will get too cocky and fall straight into a honey pot.....

Finally online after almost day 4...not cool....

Since December 25 I'm trying to logging and have been impossible, is a bad start for me. My Xbox live just went down one day.

Going into 5th day of no psn on ps4 for me. Also bought my lad a ps4 for christmas (who loves multiplayer) and he's gone back to his xbox360 for now. My xbox one had some issues but for the most part has been running ok. Not sure why I can see some people here in the UK having no probs and some not being able to log on. My internet is fine and working with all my other devices

Little over three days in offline mode for me, while it was little frustrating not being able to play few matches online, I did spend some time with my PS Vita and good old Dota 2, not to mention few single player games that I had been delaying on the PS4.

Almost finished Metro: Last Light - that game gets more disturbing in the ending chapters.. not to mention difficult lol.

Hopefully Sony and other companies are able to implement better security features in future, while most of my time was spend with family, there were times when me and my friends wanted to play online.

Whoever is responsible, this isn't the way to get get into your demands, it only angers actual gamers, not companies.. sad truly..

Everybody go to network settings go to custom put everything in automatic and change MTU to 1473.

here’s a
temporary fix that might help you.
Go to Settings -> Network -> Set Up Internet
Connection on your PS4, select “Custom,”
leave all your settings as they were, but
change MTU to 1473.
It’s very likely that you’ll be able to connect
with no issue even if you weren’t before
applying this small fix.
Hopefully this won’t be needed soon, but if
you’re still having problems and want to
connect in a hurry, trying this is a good bet.
Just remember to change it back to 1500
once the problems are fully solved.

A man was able to enter all his codes today for FC4 stuff and LBP3 costumes so he's good. Now back to FC4's amazing single player

What a half assed generic answer. Sony has really left a sour taste in my mouth this year. Glad I decided to make my PS4 strictly for exclusives. Its been nothing more than a 5lb paper so far its first year.

I've still no service and if someone asked me to trade ps4 for a x1 or a steam box I'd jump at it. Its not just when Sony is hacked its the network down time for updates to servers. This has hurt Sony bigtime.

my 5 days of psn outage are over thanks to a slight change in the wifi mtu settings suggested by someone on facebook. Worked for both mine and my sons ps4's as we are now both back up and running. My mates down the roads ps4 still isnt working without the change

They are going to put the screws on their customers real soon the head of PlayStation said they would focus on extracting more profit from their current install base

Just call it PlayStation Online, pay your subscription and you get everything. All this gold, silver and bronze membership or whatever is nonsense. Same situation with Nintendo, pay your money and you get the lot. If Nintendo charged £19.99 or £24.99 for the lot, a lot more people would pay it. When you consider Nintendo tried Switch 2 games for £75 and failed, the cost of games these days, this online malarky should be free when PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X games are pushing £70+. You pay for the cost of running their online service is tosh.

They had probably wanted to do that all the way back to 2012 when they introduced the Sony Entertainment Network and the backlash forced them to keep the PSN name alive.

I knew this would happen. Now is the time for Microsoft strike back and send Sony back to only making TVs.

ANOTHER REASON DIGITAL ONLY SUCKS.

I have a sizable game collection that includes a lot hefty download files and takes a lot of time if you want to ever play a game rather than have it on tap. So, I actually have 3 PlayStation 4 consoles and PlayStation treats me like a criminal for my troubles. Why do I have 3 PS4 consoles? Because of the size of games and also functionality. My 1st Gen PS4 is for disc-based games, which is getting smaller because now I have digital backups and keep my games sealed. But, I also have a PS4 Slim which houses all my base PS4 games and VR. My PSVR hooks up to the slim for VR gaming as well. My PS4 Slim has an internal 2TB SSD and 4TB external mechanical HDD and both are beyond full. Then I have PS4 Pro that has a similar setup and is also full. My PS4 Pro has games on it that are optimized for PS4 (benefits that come from the PS Pro). Because size is so limited, this is what I have and when the Internet goes out or PSN goes down, I can't play any of my games. If I'm playing games on one room of the house on a PS4, and someone in the house wants to play on a separate PS4 at the same time, we get locked out. I pay for games, in my own house, and I'm treated like a thief. I have digital I buy and when physical media goes on sale at a low price, I then have my physical media, which remains sealed and turns into a savings account as well as throughout my gaming life, I've learned a lot about the value of games over time. The older they get, the more valuable they become.

So, yeah, I'm locked out. Can't play anything so I go to PS3 or Xbox or other consoles. What a croc

So I'm guessing if you paid premium dollars for that PS5 Pro bad boy, it is now a brick. This outage may be a good thing for gamers as it reminds everyone of the consequences of an all digital console that Sony is desperate for consumers to embrace.

This is the last thing sony needs right now with all that's going on.
