Assassin's Creed Unity Patch Introduces More Issues

Ubisoft recently rolled out a massive update for Assassin’s Creed Unity, the purpose of which was to fix frame rate and stability issues. While the patch did indeed fix some issues, users are reporting that it introduced a host of new problems, ultimately doing more harm than good.

Nuke this game from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Game just is too much too handle for old hardware. I am personally playing this at 5760*1080, ultra settings still getting 100 fps.

Def the best looking game of the year.

@weareligion

for 3 screens ultra settings, you need quad sli titans 6GB VRAM (i personally have Titan Z quad sli, liquid cooled).

However for 1080p gaming a GTX 780 should be enough for 60fps at high settings (which i think is a very reasonable requirement for the best looking game released this year).

As a note i played the game on 3x GTX 780s at 5760*1080, however i was running into VRAM issues. Hence i would strongly recommend Minimum 3 Titans for 3 screens, as anything else will quickly hit VRAM limits even at high settings.

I am willing to send you screen shots if you would like to see the game running on my setup.

Can I get a screenshot of that? I finally got a third monitor this week, but haven't tried many games with it.

Say what you want about the PC version. If they decide to bring it to consoles they better make it work properly. It's not only performance issues as well. Reading the patch notes shows how buggy this game was on release.

The devs have said they would've wanted more time with the game but since it's an anual franchise I guess Ubisoft gave them a strict time limit. They had to be aware of the games problems and yet decided to release it at that state. It's sad to see how many games with a lot of potential are being rushed and released unfinished nowadays. We should expect higher quality from some of the biggest publishers in the world.

If you're going to lie, at least make it believable.

I have a 980 gtx and playing on ultra high @ 1080p and have to turn down to FSAA. And i still cant keep it at a steady 60fps, dips into mid 40's at times.

What liquid cooling system are you using? I was thinking about the next time I upgrade, I would switch to liquid cooling. The only thing is, I found most things to be un-reliable. :P

I'm pretty impressed with your build. What all do you have in your PC?

obmas4169d ago

jeebus that sounds like one really expensive build

starchild4169d ago

Everything you said was sensible and true. Those that disagreed with you are idiots.

I play it on a single GTX 970 on a G-Sync monitor and the experience has been great overall. I don't like how glitchy the NPCs can be, but other than that I haven't had any issues with the game and it's a pretty good game too.

it seems like there is no way of fixing this game.

Ubi have to stop this annual thing, this saga deserves more than a greedy "Pokemon" treatment.

I really have fond memories of the first 2 games they were really interesting, there was an intriguing plot that Ubi did not was able of exploiting on the successive sequels.

Nodoze4169d ago

Except that Pokemon games are not bug ridden messes upon release. In fact just the opposite. They are polished.

If anything Ubisoft could learn a thing or two from Nintendo. Perhaps the stringent release standards are what caused Ubi to pull back from the Wii U.

Got this game on PS4 recently have had literally NO ISSUES OR PROBLEMS I can't be that lucky the media and people are exaggerating these issues I swear

Knightshade4169d ago

Literally the first building I tried to climb when I got to Paris, Arno spun to the side and clung to mid air. My first multiplayer game? I fell through the world, twice. Don't have to believe me - I've got video proof: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Utalkin2me4169d ago

So you're saying people are just making up issues? Just cause you for some odd reason had "no issues", doesn't mean majority of people are not. I have had so many graphical, climbing and NPC glitches it's not funny. Not all are game breaking or anything. But i have had to restart my game a handful of times due to character/clipping issues.

Sm00thNinja4169d ago

I got the game after the recent patch that was almost 7 gigs maybe I've been fortunate but I've seen NOT ONE GLITCH wtf am I calling you a liar no but these issues can be so numerous after recent patches and the frame rate on PS4 is butter I can't speak for xbone but this game so far is fantastic just my opinion

Utalkin2me4169d ago (Edited 4169d ago )

You just said "media and people are exaggerating these issues I swear". Seems like you're saying alot of people are lying.

The framerate on the PS4 is still not butter, even after the patch. It still drops in the low to mid 20's at times. Maybe if you consider below 30 fps is butter, then ok i guess. But the pop in is way more noticable cause of it.

But i am glad i have the PC version, cause i couldn't stand to play it on the console version.

starchild4169d ago

I do absolutely think that people are exaggerating the issues. People were hating on this game way before it was released. Of course the hate bandwagon is going to keep on rolling.

The NPCs are pretty glitchy and that is a bummer, but overall the game has been fine for me too.

skulz74169d ago

The framerate has definitely improved, but the pop in is still crazy

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

andy85796d ago (Edited 796d ago )

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate
