I know Microsoft has something up their sleeves concerning live especially since there was no spring update.Exactly what it is will be a mystery till E3.

What Kotaku is reporting sounds really interesting and if implemented properly with a good motion controller then i will be all up for it.

i think it's great that there are updates and features coming on all platforms.

Now I will also be getting the motion controller(Is Motion tech the game changer MSFT was talking about?).

The next update will be so grand MSFT will have to make user guide video's and release them for download(why do you think Sony has been annoncing all these mondane features years old for *desperate attempt to steal MSFT's thunder*.

@1.2, If this is true MSFT will be the comapany pioneering the 3D interface on consoles, what you said doesn't make any sense MSFT did not wait for Sony or Nintendo to test the waters with this idea making sure it is successful before they implement it.

Yes I find that interesting too, maybe they felt they needed to diffuse the whole, PSN is now almost equal to LIVE and free.

Anyway, even if it isn't, it's a weird thign to speculate about, why not speculate about great games coming, I think the dashboard update (or lack of it) is just something people will have to put up with.

i think your being more than generous with the almost as good as live. the psn is getting there, but it aint almost as good. the thing is, and something alot of sony fanboys dont realise, people with 360's dont go mad for updates because everything you lot are getting now, has been in the xbox since 03 and the 360 since launch.

all this "omg wow it's like totally amazing 2.40" is nothing to 360 owners, and just means your getting some features that hve been around since 03 as i've already said.

the 360 dashboard is EASY to use but bad designed, and with ms changing the buttons positions on the go with the firware updates i find it very cluttered to many submenus to many colors and graphics around the typo.

interface is easy to use and bad on the eyes

Despite MSFT's rumored motion controller gamers need to be excited about MSFT's motion technoligy in general.

I remember Bill Gates saying they were intrested *or* working on motion that was so advanced it can read body movement in detail and it could scan objects as gaming tools vs just the motion controller.

A real earily test as I call it was Totemball.

A statement by Shane Kim was made that due to hearing about the Minority Report system rumored to hit the PLAYSTATION®3 utilizing the PSEye it made Microsoft Corp. go back to the "Jump In" mentality again. The inclusion of Avatars is just the beginning for Microsoft to add its rivals features and Shane Kim has stated that a PLAYSTATION® Home clone feature will be announced in the near future.

Xbox zealots are always complaining about Sony and it's continuous updates to make the XMB and PSN better with every update by adding new features. They scream about "Well, we had that since Day 1" Seems like they have no problem when Microsoft adds new features after launch though.

Yup, this should be a nice update. I have really enjoyed watching how XBL has grown and tweaked itself into what it is today. I am still undecided about the motion controller, but time will tell. Another thing that is neat, is that look how much companies are listening to what the gamers want. I am remember a few months after the 360 launched gamers wanted to be able to do other things while they downloadedmovies, demos, etc; along with a few more highly wanted tweaks. Walla, a few months later there was an update. And now to see the 2.4 update for the PSN, these companies are really listening to the consumer. Keep it up...

If you have a slow connection, you dont log on as fast, hence, the lagging.

if you have a slow connection, the ads dont pop up right away, hence the lagging.

I think only the purple screen doesnt have anything "live" related. Cant remember.

Yeah, your comment about how you often complain about the 360 and the fact that you have only two games on your gamertag. Theres nothing wring with having a preference, but I do not understand why you still own a 360 if you complain about it so much. I was get rid of it and use the money to buy some of the big games for the PS3 or now the new controller that finally made its way to Europe. I got mine.
Oh, that sucks bout the laggy dashboard. Yes, there maybe other reasons why it is laggy (hardware you say yourself), but if you have a crappy ISP it would cause the dashboard and XBL itself to run slower. They are directly related.

This always happens with something new on the PS3. Sony releases something, microcrap 2 hours later makes a statement claiming some game is better than that game for the PS3. Now their doing it with updates. They are such sore losers its not even funny. You never see Sony ripping on a halo launch, or a gears launch. Sony actually likes to make fair competition. Microcrap would sell your grandmas coffin for a pack of cigs if it was up to them. Plus that Cliffy B retard started to talk about how MGS4 is pretty much child's play to Gears. then comments like "its gimmicky" which of course that *might be true, still it won't effect those who think so 'cause its OPTIONAL, ha ha one sdf member actually claimed the 360 dashboard is too "confusing", lmfao I'm seriously wondering if he ever even touched a 360 controller?, oh and lets not forget the well thought out observation by one sdf member who stated the dashboard itself is "laggy"= thats classic n4g material for you, uhm its just so hilarious reading what some will come up with in a TRANSPARENT attempt to push their obvious agenda.

I personally prefer the XBL blades over my PS3's XMB for its ease of use. There's just so much scrolling needed on the XMB, however i love the fact that its customizable. A 3d interface with motion sensing would definitely be awesome. BTW, i do occasionally experience lag on the market place however PSN is even worse. I would blame that on my ISP though and the fact that im wirelessly connected.

Microsoft has said already that the will be no more dashboard changes.
They dont need to change the look of the dashboard because its already looking good as it is..;)

Hang on this is what really happends. turning on my xbox. auto sign in happends. i can see going from top to bottem, my profile, inside xbox, freinds & messages,chat and instant messenger, to the right of that it tells me what games have come out this week, rockband live content, open tray. hmmm lots of advertising. NOT!

right lets try 'It takes like 9 different menus to get to your demos'
here we go.
1) 1 blade to the right
2) go down 1 to game library and press A
3) press A on my games
and their you go your demos in 3 menus. so the point you made about taking 9 menus to get to your demos is utter ballsh1t. and the advertising point you made well tht is aswell. i get 2 at max and that only happends on the xbox live and marketplace blades. so your arguments are worthless.

if it pisses you off... well thats your opinion and i respect that but please talk facts before the droid half of you takes over. ok?

Sounds like a great update...although I'm concerned about having "to buy" a controller to utilize the interface. I suppose it's one way to guarantee the sucksess of this "motion controller". I love my 360, I'm a huge proponent. But, this is a bit over the top even for me.

I don't think I'm a fan of this idea at all...the motion controller and the GUI. The GUI has to be perfect, and the motion control smacks of garbage.
