stupid thing to do microsoft name a software after a country without getting permission

Bucky Sligo6538d ago

Did you guys read the article? Fiji is just a code name for a product they are going to release later on. Like "newton" or "zyphur" and such.

NO_PUDding6538d ago

Still stupid to name it that.

I spent 3 years of my childhood in Fiji. On an island called Nananu-I-Ra. It's only America and UK that really like Microsoft anymore and I certainly do not want that place to be tarnished by them.

LJWooly6538d ago

I never understood why people ever liked Microsoft in the first place, or why Microsoft fanboys even exist.

Bladestar6538d ago

@LJWooly - and I never understood why people actually hate a company that makes a product... I understand not buying their products and that's it.. it's just a product.. you buy it or you don't... why should you have a problem with people liking a company that makes a product they like? Now, what's stupid.. is when people like you that DO NOT USE OR BUY the product and yet you obsess with hating the company that make it... now how is that rational? You know... these corporations give people jobs, pay taxes, help the economy... they are not there to eat your new born...

Bad_Karma6538d ago

LMAO i knew if anyone would jump to Microsoft`s defence it would be Bladestar. Jesus man are you working for the company or just a total Microsoft ass kisser ?

HAHHAAHHAHAHAHA Bubbles up for you!

NO_PUDding6538d ago

Even Microsoft can't afford that. They coudl afford to run it though.

meepmoopmeep6538d ago

Due to Microsoft Corp's monopolistic mentality they have now started a campaign to expand their division to acquire country names in their conquest for more dominance in the world.

Rumor has it that they have spoke to investors of their intentions to claim everyone's first born child's name. With future forecasts of acquiring the rights to own all pet names as well.

kind of funny. Sounds like a large misunderstanding. Lost in translation perhaps?

Edit: Official languages of Fiji are: English, Bau Fijian, and Hindustani...learn something new every day:-P

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman37d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
