The "players met" doesnt work at all , was playing against people on fifa and looked at it afterwards and there was nothing

we defo need a system update to "Stability has been improved during the use of some system software features" there has been no update for that since 2nd sep the system has been lagging with destiny

My PS4 (PSN name: BKaca) always has a message notification and when I look I see the same message that's been up there since last year.

I get an error code when I try to accept friend request......but they go through anyway after a day or so...

I've noticed this as well, it started a few weeks ago for me. Sometimes only part of my friends list loads, sometimes none at all. I don't know if they changed some kind of protocol after they were DDOS'd or what but it seems like that was about the time it started.

however unlikely it may sound i found this issue is related to installing certain games. FOr me it was Watch Dogs, for my friend it was BF4, but after installing them it pretty much crippled our PS4s. Basically anything PSN related took forever to load if at all, but for me it also came with complete system crashes if i clicked on any app/game unless i made sure there was no disc inside when the console was turned on. Only thing that fixed it was a complete restore/initialization of the ps4. Me and my friend did this twice to confirm it was caused by installing those games, and it was

I only have problems with messages

There is like a 5 minute delay before messages can be received or sent

Finally some posted this i been having this problems since day 1 and when your playing a game that uses online forget about it nothing will open.

Yes happens to me too, but not terribly. Anyone have problems with messaging? Those are the ones that load long like me sending a message takes about a minute, but takes about 5 minutes to get to my friends and same other way around. Also the messages say that they were sent/received about 10 minutes after they are actually sent/received. Good thing theres party chat.....FIX THIS SONY!!! Everything works well with my vita though, so it should work well with the ps4.

Over here in Chicago I had loading problems since launch but it seem to have went away with the recent update

It sucks that people are having these problems.... I live in NYC and I dont have any of these and the friends I have in Florida or south of NYC do have some but not all the problems listed here ... I hope the 2.0 update will fix it....

What also sucks is that people are thinking its a problem with their routers, or its only happening to them, because the media is so afraid to report anything negative on PS4.

I had this issue too, but it turned out to be my network. I changed ISP and made sure my NAT was open and everything works really fast, loads fast and messages are instantaneous.

No problems here in Spain. Must be a problem with certain regions. I did see people complain about it on twitch but most of them came from the states.

I've had the same problem since launch.

From the rumours I've read, I blame the disconnect in online-culture between east and west.
I've heard that it's Sony Japan that controls the online portion of the Playstation and refuses to hand the reins over to someone who knows what they're doing.

Yeah I have this issue on and off. Also every time I get a message, it will always say it was received 5 or 11 minutes ago, even when I send a message. It's a mighty odd thing, but nothing I particularly care about.

The friends list is ok for me, it loads instantly but the messages take forever to view that's my only problem.

This happens to me also but just the messages. Get a PS notification to say I got a message but have to wait minutes for it to appear so I can read it. FYI bet that doesn't happen on XBox!!!

Also as appreciate messages is not part of PS+ I do pay for + so shouldn't expect these problems. Tired of consoles always under delivering, role on Alien-ware Alpha or equivalent.

I have noticed getting friend requests that disappear, and sending ones that disappear trying to get fireteams for Destiny.

Also, when someone sends a message to everyone on the list including you it seems to alert you as a message anytime anyone "leaves" the conversation. It sucks.

Just call it PlayStation Online, pay your subscription and you get everything. All this gold, silver and bronze membership or whatever is nonsense. Same situation with Nintendo, pay your money and you get the lot. If Nintendo charged £19.99 or £24.99 for the lot, a lot more people would pay it. When you consider Nintendo tried Switch 2 games for £75 and failed, the cost of games these days, this online malarky should be free when PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X games are pushing £70+. You pay for the cost of running their online service is tosh.

They had probably wanted to do that all the way back to 2012 when they introduced the Sony Entertainment Network and the backlash forced them to keep the PSN name alive.

I knew this would happen. Now is the time for Microsoft strike back and send Sony back to only making TVs.

ANOTHER REASON DIGITAL ONLY SUCKS.

I have a sizable game collection that includes a lot hefty download files and takes a lot of time if you want to ever play a game rather than have it on tap. So, I actually have 3 PlayStation 4 consoles and PlayStation treats me like a criminal for my troubles. Why do I have 3 PS4 consoles? Because of the size of games and also functionality. My 1st Gen PS4 is for disc-based games, which is getting smaller because now I have digital backups and keep my games sealed. But, I also have a PS4 Slim which houses all my base PS4 games and VR. My PSVR hooks up to the slim for VR gaming as well. My PS4 Slim has an internal 2TB SSD and 4TB external mechanical HDD and both are beyond full. Then I have PS4 Pro that has a similar setup and is also full. My PS4 Pro has games on it that are optimized for PS4 (benefits that come from the PS Pro). Because size is so limited, this is what I have and when the Internet goes out or PSN goes down, I can't play any of my games. If I'm playing games on one room of the house on a PS4, and someone in the house wants to play on a separate PS4 at the same time, we get locked out. I pay for games, in my own house, and I'm treated like a thief. I have digital I buy and when physical media goes on sale at a low price, I then have my physical media, which remains sealed and turns into a savings account as well as throughout my gaming life, I've learned a lot about the value of games over time. The older they get, the more valuable they become.

So, yeah, I'm locked out. Can't play anything so I go to PS3 or Xbox or other consoles. What a croc

So I'm guessing if you paid premium dollars for that PS5 Pro bad boy, it is now a brick. This outage may be a good thing for gamers as it reminds everyone of the consequences of an all digital console that Sony is desperate for consumers to embrace.

So glad I never associated a CC with them online.

I was unaffected by this because I know how to properly set up my PS5 as primary so that I don't need to be online just to use digitally purchased games. I feel bad for those with multiple PlayStation systems and since I don't have a Portal yet, I'm still not sure if access to PSN is really required after initial setup just to use a $200 remote peripheral, but I feel bad for those impacted by that as well and will just have to take everyone's word for it that Portal requires PSN.

In any case I'm vindicated again for buying physical games wherever possible. Yes, I might not be impacted because I only have one PS5 system that is cleared for true offline play, but all disc-based games I own are clear for offline play.

I just checked and for some reason my PS5 just had a black screen frozen.
I thought it broke but I just had to restart it and now it said system software has an error.
Idk if that’s got anything to do with this.
