VR vs. Ubisoft

VRFocus - Virtual reality (VR) technology almost came out of the 2014 Game Developers Conference (GDC). With Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announcing the Project Morpheus VR head-mounted display (HMD) and Oculus VR lifting the lid on its second development kit for the Oculus Rift (DK2). The technology was riding on a wavy of positivity, with developers expressing enthusiasm for creating innovative new experiences and press and attendees clearly impressed by what they got to sample at the event.

Ubisoft has a great point. VR will have trouble taking off and developers won't just hop aboard. That means Project Morpheus won't have many games at first. That's something people will consider before dropping $200+ on Morpheus. But Ubisoft will be around for a while.

After the disappointing Watch Dogs I could care less if they support VR, they seem stuck in the past ;). I've seen enough to know I'll be getting VR when it's unleashed.

I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.

Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.

But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.
