Trust me, guys. This isn't a big deal. PlayStation Mobile on Android is the same as PlayStation Mobile for Vita.

They aren't pulling the plug, anyway. They just aren't updating it for the latest Android versions.

It's not a big deal. Their support for this particular platform was lukewarm at best...and now they will have PS Now to take it's place.

I do hope they will continue to experiment with phone hardware though...I really liked the idea of dedicated game controls in a slider phone.

Stick PS Now on multiple devices, release official dualshock drivers for said devices. Done. PS3 games on your ipad (or whatever platform) on the go.

Ok, this really is not only wrong but downright spreading false information, the SDK 1.0 for Playstation Mobile still supports Android ICS or lower, thus if you are using kitkat or future ver's of the Android OS some of the games may not be playable.

Playstation Mobile SDK 2.0 Main Tarket platform is the PSVita and Playstation TV.

reason being A: its Hardware is Robust to Handle Unity 3D 4.3 Game Engine with Lower spec Smartphones and Tablets may not have the Hardware UMPH to handle the Game Engine as well as the Playstation Vita or the Playstation TV.

PSM is not being Pulled, Again PSM is not being pulled from Android! the SDK 1.0 still allows you to develop for Android devices ICS and lower and even still your games and apps can still run on newer hardware. SDK 2.0 is just better though.

This is not being Pulled, Sony is investing more into the PSVita and Playstation TV platform , because the Unity 3D Game engine 4.3 runs full functional on the PSVita and playstation TV. Since the Hardware is the same chipset, the software can target the exact same chipset. thats why when people say Sony is giving up on the PSVita i Laugh, now they are saying Sony is giving up on Android Also...LMAO

hell as of May 29th 2014 PSM now expanded into 32 extra countries world wide..Yupper's Sony is sure giving up on PSM.

I'm not sure if I would state that PSM itself is dead. I don't check it very often, but the platform has plenty of new games on it every single time I've gone and checked, even if a lot of them are shovelware trash from foreign developers hoping people sink a few cents into their broken apps/games-- there are quite a few gems hidden in there, and they're coming out frequently enough to bother looking occasionally.

Anyway, plenty of apps do this-- compatibility issues arise when Android is updated and old apps aren't fixed or patched to accommodate the changes. I've got several apps on my phone that haven't been updated in well over a year that still work fine on the newest version of Android. This is more of a liability thing, so people don't get upset when a game breaks on a newer version of Android.

I'd wager PSM is used 90% natively on Vitas, anyway. I tried it once on my phone with a couple games I'd paid for and never touched it again.

it makes sense the vita handheld side is dead is more of an accessory to the ps4,i work in inventory management and we pulled the vita section months ago and put the vita on the ps4 accessory section also the vita is not selling i wont be surprised if this is vitas last holiday season.
