Why Wii Need Ubisoft

The Wii U is having a bit of a rough time. While it’s a bit of a cliche to mention that in a Nintendo article, it’s hard to ignore their relatively weak software release schedule of 2014, which is not really the improvement that everyone was expecting. Sure, the spectacular Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was released in February and Mario Kart 8 drops at the end of May but, other than that, what else is there? It’s evident that Nintendo can’t seem to keep up with a consistent release calendar, despite promising gamers that they learned from their mistakes for the second time regarding software droughts, the first being with the 3DS.

I have bought most of Ubisoft's games that have come out on Wii U. I will continue to buy Ubi's games that come to the Wii U.

lol at pic of male assassin with clean manicured female hands...lol
OT:
i have yet to buy a wiiu but having ubi developing games for is appealing. i WILL buy a wiiu and look forward too seeing a ton of ubi games on it.
ubi needs to make a wiiu exclusive and take full advantage of the controller.

eaise4452d ago

They made ZombiU which is a Wii U exclusive. It had lots of potential but there was several game breaking glitches in it (tje gameplay was good though). I'd love for Ubi to make another Wii U exclusive. I'd buy it long as it looked good

Kingthrash3604452d ago

oh snap i didnt know ZU was a ubi game...learn somethin new everyday

Ghost_Nappa4452d ago

Ubisoft said that ZombieU will not see a sequel because it was a financial failure

eaise4452d ago

@GhostNappa
I wasn't saying I wanted a sequel to ZombiU, I know Ubi said there would be no sequel. (it failed financially for many reasons, some that were all Ubi's fault)
I was saying I would like for Ubi to make another Wii U exclusive game.

I love how Ubi supports the WiiU. Ubisoft has been doing a lot of things right lately. They are quickly working their way up my list of favorite companies.

Can't wait until I get to play Child of Light.

And we all need Nintendo. Go third party Nintendo, make the world a better place!

KonsoruMasuta4452d ago (Edited 4452d ago )

And completely cut off their hardware sales? Hardware makes up a LARGE part of their income, cutting it off would be bad news.

That's like MCDonalds getting rid of burgers.

The world is already a great place with my PS4, WiiU, 3DS, and Vita side by side.

incendy354452d ago

I don't care about their income, I am talking about a better world : )

randomass1714452d ago

@inecndy35

How would that make things better? Going third party did not make Sega more successful.

incendy354452d ago

It would mean people with all systems could enjoy Nintendo games. Can't see how that wouldn't make everyone happier!

deafdani4452d ago

Nah, no thanks. I love Nintendo's hardware. I love the Wii U. I love the fact that they think outside the norm, even if it comes back to bit them in the ass later. The Gamepad is awesome, and I expect next generation's consoles to have it, all of them, along with Microsoft's rumble-enabled triggers.

(Although such a controller would probably have half an hour of battery life... lol).

MasterCornholio4452d ago

Keep supporting the Wii U Ubisoft and dont abandon it like other 3rd party developers. Wii U owners need you to play games like Raymen, Watchdogs and Assassins Creed.

Knightofelemia4452d ago

I wouldn't mind SouthPark Stick of Truth coming to the Wii U I'd play it again. Hopefully they will port the game.

GordonKnight4452d ago

RPGs and the gamepad go hand & hand. IMO Any future RPG that aren't released on the Wii U is considered a crime.

I can't sit here and act like I know these workers financial situations. And I'm sure nobody wakes up WANTING to go to court. But for the sake of the industry, I wish some of these types of cases made it to trial.

Settlements allow companies to continue to do whatever abusive practices they do. While the trials (should the company lose) would actually force real changes for the better.

But again, I'm not in these workers shoes and I can understand them not wanting to risk it.
