"'Oh well, I just didn't feel it today. My luck wasn't with me. Whatever the cause"

It shouldn't really be about "luck" though, it should be about skill.

wonderfulmonkeyman4438d ago

It is, mostly.
This is Mario Kart; a bit of luck with your items is always going to be a factor unless you opt to make it more "Traditional" by doing nothing but custom races with no items whatsoever.[which, in my opinion, is boring as fuck. If I wanted to race like that, I'd play FORZA or Need for Speed or something.]

Couldnt have said it better

I agree, it's like playing smash without items, still good, but not the same.

Nothing beats picking a pokeball, trow it at your opponent face and get a magicarp, a fuck is given followed by a mad charge to restore your lost honor, i always love that loony side of smash.

-Foxtrot4438d ago

No, I was talking about the guy who said it, he's making it seem that it's just about look when it's about skill aswell.

The weapons are fine it's just the blue shell which is annoying, if you had at least a small chance to deflect it then fair enough but you can't.

maniacmayhem4438d ago

There is a way to cheat though. When racing in Mario Kart all you have to do is hang back in 2nd or 3rd place, doesn't matter where you are in relation to the other racers, 2nd or 3rd will net you the better weapons to automatically take out the person in front.

There was many times when I would hang back grab three red turtle shells, maybe a star, or better yet a lightning bolt on the last lap in third or second place.

And trust me a lot of online players did the same thing. I hated playing like that but it's the easiest way to win. That has been my problem with MK since the Wii version. Nintendo actually added more weapons to jet a player into 1st place, bullet bill, the giant mushroom, it's beyond ridiculous.

The blue shell was the best in 64. At least there was cool tricks to get away from that and it could hit everyone in front of you.

Foxtrot if you dont like the freaking game stop going to every damn Mario Kart 8 post and expressing how you feel. no one gives a rats *** how much you despise the game, there are still plenty of us who well enjoy the heck of it. please leave your whining on the front page.

edit: and about the blue shell, it has bin a staple to the series for a LONG time. no way in hell nintendo is going to take it away because one person is pissed about it. get over it.

Looking Ahead: The Lingering Questions About the Next Mario Kart

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "10 years. It’s been almost 10 years since the last mainline release in the Mario Kart series. Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U in 2014 and became the best-selling game for the system by a sizeable margin, and later pulled the same magic trick on the Nintendo Switch under the stage name Deluxe. All in all, it's sold nearly 70 million copies over the last decade and is still selling like hot cakes to this day, so it’s no wonder Nintendo has been in no rush to replace it. However, with rumors of a new system being just around the corner, and reports a few years back that a new Mario Kart is indeed under way, it seems the era of 8 might very well be drawing to a close. It’s an exciting prospect to be sure, but after two Nintendo systems with Mario Kart 8 at their heart, a lot of questions remain about how Nintendo will choose to follow it up."

I hope they just keep building on Mario Kart 8; Add a track-creation tool, and probably open it up to more Nintendo IPs with new tracks and characters, so Metroid, Punch Out, Starfox, Animal Crossing, etc etc.

there wont be a new one until the switch 2 comes out.

nintendo needs their bangers early on
